Happy Friday! It was a crummy week weather wise in the "sunshine" state, so I'm excited for the weekend and the return of Mr. Sun.
1. On Wednesday, I met up with a friend for dinner and drinks to catch up and go over the overwhelming need for a blog re-design. We enjoyed southern cooking and the best hurricanes I've tasted outside of Bourbon Street, and capped off our dinner with some beignets that brought me right back to Cafe du Monde. I can't wait for a much-needed new look in these parts, and to introduce you all to her amazing work.

2. Yes, I'm still talking about my trip to Islamorada two weeks ago #sorryimnotsorry. So I was excited when @islamoradatimes re-grammed my photo from the beach at the Guy Harvey Islander Resort. Take me back!
3. After Emily posted this pullover sweater last week, I couldn't stop thinking about it and knew it'd be perfect for a yummy brunch with bottomless mimosas. 5. With all the rain this week, I got some good use out of my raincoat that I picked up at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last summer. I loved how it kept me dry, and the hood definitely came in handy too. And the color... gorgeous! Perfect pop of color to brighten up gloomy rainy days.

It's Wine O'Clock

Well... not really. Most of us are either getting ready for work or sitting at our desks with our coffee as we read this so let's just pretend.

It's no secret around here how much I love the ready-to-pour Skinny Girl Cocktails, but believe it or not I had never tried their wine. I finally picked up a bottle to enjoy last week out on the patio. It was the perfect blend of white grapes, peach, and apricots without being too sweet. Nice, crisp, and refreshing. Skinny Girl does it again!

Urban Decay Naked on the Run

On Friday, I mentioned how much I loved packing my Naked on the Run palette for my trip to Islamorada. It was great having everything I needed other than my foundation and primer in one palette. While on the trip, I used the blush, highlighter, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss. The gloss and the eyeshadow were my favorite in the palette, as they were perfect for day or night.

Celebrations & Universal Weekending

Celebrations & Universal Weekending

Here we are Monday - we meet again! After a fun weekend, I'm ready for all the coffee to kick off this fabulous week.
On Friday after work, I went out to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was nice to see a lot of people I haven't seen since the craziness of the holiday season, and of course champagne.

On Saturday, Pamela, Emily, Kerri, and I met up with Ashley for dinner at City Walk while she was in town visiting Universal Studios and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Ashley was super sweet! And I love how she and her husband truly are the wandering weekenders, they go on the best whirldwind weekend trips.
We went to a sushi-burger fusion place called Cowfish which was great for us non-seafood eaters, I loved getting to enjoy a "sushi" roll which replaced the fish with meat all while trying to smooth out my chopstick skills.
After dinner, we headed over to the Red Coconut Club for another drink and live music. Of course we stopped for a fun photo opp first.
Sunday was a cozy day filled with doggy snuggles and a House of Cards re-watch marathon. Now that Netflix has announced the release date of season 4, I'm enjoying the first few seasons again and am being reminded of how amazingly well the detail and the writing is for this show. As a Political Science major and an intern at the legislature in college, I'm Kate and I approve of this brilliant show.

Cheers to the Weekend

Happy Friday! Even with the short week, it sure is beautiful to welcome in the weekend!
1. One of my favorite items that I packed for Islamorada last weekend was my Urban Decay Naked on the Run palette. I still brought my Studio Fix foundation and primer, but the palette had all my other essentials including eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, blush, highlighter, and lip gloss.

2. Roxy is loving her recent Chewy shipment, this month she's enjoying the Natural Balance Wild Pursuit Venison Lung Bites Grain Free Treats which are high in protein for my girl.
3. Tickets are officially booked to fly up to CT, and meet my new nephew! As much as I'm not looking forward to the cold, I can't wait for baby snuggles and to see some family. I'm also going to embrace the winter season and go tubing at Powder Ridge. I haven't been since high school, and I can't wait!
4. I'm usually all about the 3-wick candles at Bath and Body Works, but the cooler weather has been extremely drying for my skin. I've been loving my lotions which have been a lifesaver for my poor hands.
