Festival Ready

Festival Ready

Tomorrow, I'll be heading down to my first music festival of the year, and I can't wait to play around with a fun festival look while seeing some great dj's and bands live.
Music Festival
I'm usually a sundress kind of girl, but I want to make sure I have pockets so I can easily access my phone for pictures so I plan on wearing shorts and a graphic tee. Ideally, I'd like to wear a cute crochet crop top, but I know I'll never have the guts to actually wear it in public. So I'll be sporting a graphic tee, fun colored shorts, and flowery jewelry complete with a crossbody bag so I can be hands free for the event.

I also would love to pair my outfit with some fun wedges, but I'm going to be honest with myself and know my poor feet and legs will thank me for wearing flat sandals. Standing around, dancing, and lots of walking is not ideal for fun shoes.

It'll be pretty warm out, so I'm going to go with minimal makeup so it won't melt off my face. Just give me my favorite mascara, and some pretty lipstick and I'll be good to go.

What concerts or music festivals are you looking forward to this year?

Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo

Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo

I was super excited to receive Bumble & Bumble's Sunday Shampoo in my recent Sephora order during the Spring VIB Sale. I had never used a clarifying shampoo before at home, and had only heard amazing things about the Sunday Shampoo. I knew I needed a little extra oomph about once a week to remove excess build up on my scalp and revive my hair by cleaning it beyond ordinary shampoo.

After washing my hair with the Sunday Shampoo, I was amazed at how clean my hair and my scalp felt. My hair looked and felt the way it does after getting my hair done, and who doesn't love that feeling?! All I was missing was the complimentary scalp massage! For the next few days, my hair was softer and my highlights were more vibrant. I plan on using this shampoo once a week in place of my regular shampoo to deep clean my hair and scalp and bring back the vibrance of my color treatments.

What's your favorite clarifying shampoo?

Homemade Skinny Margaritas

Homemade Skinny Margaritas

**Before we get started, Emily and I have agreed that hosting Tuesday's Recipe Swap on a bi-weekly basis will be more manageable for us and our busy schedules. So starting this week, we will be hosting the link up every other Tuesday. I will make sure to remind everyone the Monday before, and through various social media blasts**

**And stay tuned for a special announcement regarding our upcoming Travel Link-Up!**

One of my all time favorites is a bottle of Skinny Girl Margarita, but I never tried making my own skinny margaritas at home other than using diet margarita mix. Now that I'm cutting out artificial sweeteners and unnecessary chemicals, I was looking for a more natural way to make them at home a la Bethenny Frankel. She uses agave to sweeten her product, but when I stu mbled upon a recipe that just called for fruit juices instead of sour mix I was immediately sold.

Ingredients

5-6 oz. tequila of choice (I used Patron)
2 oranges
1 grapefruit
2 limes
Splash of club soda
Salt to taste

Directions

Pour tequila into a pitcher over ice
Rinse and cut fruit in half and squeeze juices into pitcher
Add club soda to taste
Stir and enjoy

*Nothing says summer like margaritas by the pool*

You can also add a splash of blue curacao for some extra color and flavor. You can't go wrong with guilt free blue margaritas!

Sun and Music Weekending

Sun and Music Weekending

Another Monday morning, another week of me sitting here left wondering why the weekend always goes by too stinkin' fast.

I kicked off the weekend on Friday with a quick happy hour with some work peeps before heading home and continuing happy hour by the pool. Happy hour at home consisted of some homemade skinny margaritas (recipe coming tomorrow) and grilled food before heading inside for game night and the kick off to the Subway Series.

Saturday, I enjoyed my morning coffee outside on the patio before going on a beautiful bike ride. One of my favorite parts of spring time in Florida are the gorgeous magnolia blossoms that bloom this time of year. I went by so many pretty trees on my bike ride, that I decided to finally stop and take a picture of my favorite tree.

A sweaty bike ride calls for pool time, and that's just what I did for the rest of the afternoon and it was perfection. I pool-hopped between my house and my neighbor's as we were doggy-sitting their pupper Apollo. Look at him all handsome taking in the rays on the sun shelf? He was so happy to romp around and splash in the water.

Saturday night called for some food downtown at Harry Buffalo with friends before stumbling upon some live music at the always-closed Cheyenne Saloon and Opera House. It's closed every time I go by so it was a nice surprise to not only see it open, but for live music and all you can drink Coors Light. I'm not a fan of Coors Light, but $10 for unlimited bottles and I'll pretend it's Mich Ultra all night no problem.

*Buffalo mac n' cheese was delish*

I was completely blown away upon entering at how big it was inside, and the woodwork and detail was breathtaking. Dark lighting and iPhone quality photos can't do this place justice. Let's just say we were all walking around with our heads looking up for a while taking it all in.

The first band up was Diamond Dixie, and those girls were really good!

*Always a photo bomb*

But can we talk about the amazingness that is the new extraordinary rewards coming soon to Sephora?! I usually hoard my points for the 500 point rewards, but now we're also going to have even more reason to hoard those points for 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, and even 10,000 point rewards!

1,000 point reward will be a limited edition case from Kat Von D's collection filled with some of her best selling products.

2,000 point reward will be an ultimate collection of Urban Decay's naked collection signed by brand founder Wende Zomnir. (This will be definitely be what I'll hoard my points for!) I'm also wondering if this was a typo on the site, and it's really the 5,000 point reward because that wasn't mentioned.

10,000 point reward will be Stella McCartney fragrances stuffed inside her Falabella Shaggy Deer Foldover Tote Bag.

What will you be hoarding your Sephora points for?

Favorite Mail Week

Favorite Mail Week

Fridays seriously are the best days!

My favorite mail days are when my new Rocksbox arrives with pretty new baubles.

If you've never heard of the amazingness that is Rocksbox, it's like Netflix for jewelry. They send you 3 beautiful pieces at a time, and you wear them for as long as you want. When you're done, ship them back, and they'll ship you a new set. You can also choose to keep pieces at a discount if you fall in love with a certain beautiful necklace like I did. It's only $19 a month, but your first month is free if you sign up using this code - katebff27

My other favorite mail days, are when my black and white striped box arrives from Sephora. My goodies came in from the Spring VIB Sale, and I'm super excited to try out Bumble & Bumble's Sunday Shampoo and the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer recommended by Deborah. I also picked up a replacement brush for my Clarisonic Mia, as it had been embarrassingly too long since the last time I changed it out.

Thursday was my 1 year anniversary at work, and my boss surprised me with tropical themed cupcakes which was too sweet of her. They were of course delish!

I'm super excited to head down to West Palm Beach for SunFest, some of my favorite bands and DJ's will be performing and I've heard nothing but great things about this music festival. I may have to steal Pamela's festival fringe look for the occasion.

My favorite boys in pinstripes started making their much needed come back this week, by beating the Tigers 3 games in a row. CC still can't seem to pull out a win, but we are starting to pull it together finally.

*Brrrr it still looks super cold up there*
