Staying in for V-Day

I've never been a big fan of Valentines Day and sometimes don't even celebrate it at all. I guess I'm much more of a "flowers just because" girl than a cliche overpriced V-Day bouquet. However, I do love an excuse to have a nice dinner and bottle or two of champagne *champs is always a good idea*. Instead of going out to overcrowded restaurants with pre-fixed menus, H and I have always stayed in and I'll make fondue and a yummy dessert.

This year, I plan on making....

Fondue

*last year's fondue*

Heart Shaped Cake

*thank you yet again Pinterest*

Almond Champagne

aka the best champagne ever

And we'll enjoy dessert and drinks on the patio by the fire pit. Perfect end to the evening.

How do you like to celebrate?

Well since this is our first Vday together he is planning. I think he might cook me dinner (aka more than soup and grilled cheese lol) but I am not sure. I am leaving it up to him!

  5. I'm not the hugest Valentine's Day fan. We typically stay in and make dinner at home.

    1. The cake came out much bigger than I thought since it's essentially 2 layers laid out flat together, but I love the design and how easy it was!

You definitely have to try out the champagne, it tastes like it has a dash of amaretto in it. Sooo good! ;-)

  10. A fondue dinner is perfect for a romantic Valentine's at home! We actually have a fondue set that's never been used so I need to get on that soon...I also want to try your Almond champagne too. That sounds delish although I'm not a huge champs drinker.
