Birthday Fun and Coffee Catch Up

Grab a cup of coffee, and let's catch up. I mean it is Monday after all. I can't believe it's already been a week since my birthday - we packed a lot of fun in over the long weekend. And as I mentioned last week I actually felt like we were social distancing at SeaWorld. I know that sounds like an oxy-moron but it's true. We were outside the whole time, everyone had masks on and temps taken at the gate, and hardly ever got close to others. It's a beautiful thing, and it makes me never want to see theme parks crowded again. I told my husband ahead of time that if at any point I felt uncomfortable that I would want to leave immediately. I'm happy to report I never felt uncomfortable, and there were points while walking where we didn't even see other people.

On Saturday, after some fun in the pool we went out for my favorite margarita and then for ice cream. Lil' Miss and I split a cup of Cookie Monster ice cream which was DELISH! And I have now officially found a Florida ice cream shop that compares to my beloved Rich Farm in Connecticut.
On Sunday, we went for birthday hibachi with some good friends of ours who have a little boy who's a little older than Lil' Miss. She loved seeing the koi pond and took over my birthday cupcake with a side of extra sass.

On Monday, we took the day off and headed to SeaWorld and Aquatica for the day. Who would have thought when we activated our annual pass in February that we wouldn't be back for several months. Lil' Miss has a free pre-school pass, so we happily purchased passes for ourselves to enjoy (what we thought would be) a year of fun at the two parks.

As you can see in the pictures below, there are almost no other people around and it was glorious. We took turns riding the Kraken roller coaster, took Lil' miss to the Sesame Street land, and checked out the dolphins, manatees, sting rays, and alligators before waiving the white flag in the heat to head over to Aquatica to cool off.

A stop for my favorite margarita in the park was a must before we headed over to Aquatica, and it totally hit the spot! I forgot to ask for no salt, and it was still delish! I'm seeing a trend in this post with margaritas, and kinda loving it after all it was birthday weekend. A pic with the work of art, and my beautiful personalized bracelet from Andrea was a must as well.

This past week was also the RewardStyle conference which I usually would never have stood a chance of being invited to, but is 2020 folks. Instead of a fabulous long weekend in Dallas, it was all held online. After a few hiccups with the streaming, they decided to move it to a Zoom call and all the fun began. I took lots of notes, and am excited to start utilizing the knowledge moving forward here on the blog and on social media.

I loved that they mentioned how it was the blog that started it all (woot woot!), and is still very important NOT Instagram. They showed a pyramid graph where on the bottom is LiketoKnow.it as the most important, then your blog, and at the top very small was Instagram and other various social media outlets. You should never dump all your resources into a platform you have no control over and do not own.

And as we are catching up, if you didn't see on Instagram when I made my 1st Reels (seriously who am I?!) - I shared some yummy goodness from Revive Superfoods and their delicious smoothies. They send them in freezer packs, so they are frozen when they arrive and you store them in your freezer or simply add your milk of choice, add a re-usable straw, and enjoy. Use coupon code GREENFASHIONISTA55 to get 55% off your order of these delicious and healthy snacks.

  3. I've always said the same - that our blogs should be priority! You never want to dump all your time and resources into something you don't even own (ahem, insta!). PS, love Sea World too!

  4. Oh I just bet those emptyish parks feel so nice! We typically travel in the off season so they aren't super crowded but I have been seeing photos of all the parks like never before. If we lived closer we'd totally be using the passes we bought earlier in the year. Sounds like you had a really great week.

  5. That is awesome there was hardly anyone in the park! I would LOVE that in the future since they were always so crowded when we went as kids. I totally agree with you that you can't dump all your resources into one platform, especially that could be gone tomorrow.

  9. I'm so glad you had a good Sea World experience! I think we're all going to have to learn to social distance + mask up in order to reintroduce more public things like amusement parks, restaurants, etc. because this virus isn't going away anytime soon.

  11. That cookie monster ice cream sounds amazing. Happy belated birthday to you. I love the bracelet that Andrea got you. Super cute. I am sooo glad that Sea World is taking those precautions. I feel like a lot of places have really stepped up their game.

  12. Looks like such a fun adventure! We used to vacation to SeaWorld frequently when I was growing up. Though I don't mind crowds, I sure loved it when there weren't long lines. Oh, and happy belated birthday!

  13. You got to do so many fun things for your birthday! A non-crowded Seaworld is like a dream come true. I already hated crowds before all of this. Yay for finding an ice cream shop! Those are always important! I am still bitter at RewardStyle, as they have rejected me twice. But I saw a lot of people took away some positives from their conference, so that is always good.

  14. Glad you had a fun birthday celebration, and it's nice that you were able to socially distance at the theme park. We usually go to the Christmas event at a theme park here but I'm not sure, it's usually very crowded and who knows what things will be like in December!

Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! Hope you had a great weekend! :)
