Cheers to Birthday Month and a Pick Me Up

It's officially birthday month! Yes, I said month - ha! I haven't had a social outing with my girls since before the shutdown in March aside from going to a friend's house for some pool fun over Memorial Day. It was SO nice to see some of my favorite girls yesterday over brunch (of course) and much needed catching up.

On Saturday, we headed out for a very special visit with a sweet furry face and then stopped for lunch. We chose to sit outside, and were ok at first but then we were all sweating and miserable. It was a little more bearable with that beautiful margarita though which was delish!

This delicious lunch was right after we went to go meet the newest member of our family! After losing Roxy 3 years ago (how is that possible?!), we are finally getting a new pup. My husband knew someone who's mom rescued a dog, and she happened to be pregnant at the time and they're looking for good homes for the puppies. The sweet girl below will be coming home in a few weeks when she's ready, and in the meantime we need to teach Lil' Miss that you don't try to open her eyes while she's sleeping - sigh. We're still deciding on a name, but I can't wait to have scampering paws running through the house again.
On Sunday, I met up with some of the girls for bottomless mimosas and Italian French Toast. Every last bite was delish right down to the limoncello cake.

In the spirit of good news and positivity - I was excited to honor one of my friends who is an essential worker with an #UltraPickMeUp encouraging her to pay it forward to someone else who could use a pick me up right now. 2020 has been the year of canceled parties, canceled weddings, canceled vacations, job loss, economic downturn, uncertainty, extra stress, important movements for what is right, and WAY too many "Karens". Being able to spread a little sunshine to essential workers and those who are going through a rough time sounds really nice right about now. More info on this fun campaign will be over on Instagram this week, and I'm hoping to encourage you all to take the challenge!
