Weekending Blates

Another Monday morning.... another giant cup of coffee to help me feel better that another fabulous weekend has come and gone.

I had been going to Bar Method for the past month and a half, and my package recently expired so I decided to go back to Barre3 for a 3 class package and do a better comparison of the 2 workouts. I feel that after doing Bar Method 3-4 times a week, I am much stronger and I went into Barre3 ready to take on the shaking and quaking. Full review and comparison of the two studios will be coming soon as I feel they are very different yet very similar workouts.

Friday night, we went to dinner with H's parents to a local Italian place and enjoyed NY style pizza and drooled over the Italian dessert case.

Saturday, we booked our cruise for this year, and couldn't be more excited. After last year's trip across the pond and fabulous long weekend in Chicago we are ready for a tropical vacay. Can't wait to relax with a drink in my hand and lounging in the bright blue Caribbean water. So of course, with the trip booked it was time to shop for some new bathing suits...

Crochet Coverup and Bikini {similar} - Target

I usually pick up my bathing suits from VS, but I'm honestly not a fan of this year's collection. But I felt like Target was really on point this year in the swimwear department. So many cute suits to choose from.

Then it was time to lounge by the pool with a good book before meeting up with Kerri and Emily for our blate.

Friday Favs + VS Giveaway

Happy Friday lovelies! Looking forward to kicking off the weekend which includes a blate with 3 lovely ladies. Nothing says girls night like snacks, wine, and games.

1. This candle has combined 2 of my favorite loves of all time: Bath & Body Works 3 wick candles + champagne (which is always a good idea!).

2. It's the 2nd most wonderful time of the year... it's girl scout cookie season! My boss' daughter was selling them, and my 2 favorites have already arrived. Let's not talk about how much I've already consumed...

3. Ultimate "me time" is getting my monthly pedicure.

4. Loving my recent finds on Pinterest:

No More Chips

Over the past year, I've been hearing a lot of buzz about Jamberry Nails, so when Emily reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try out some samples I immediately said yes.

I requested samples of Mad Mod (on my ring fingers in the pictures), Natural Leopard, and Pomegranate Pop. All three designs were just as beautiful in person as they were online, and I couldn't wait to try them out. With the samples, it's best to try them out on one finger with traditional nail polish on the rest of your fingers to see how well the jamberry wraps hold up compared to good ol' fashioned nail polish. I applied the wraps on my ring fingers last Thursday, and painted the rest of my nails with an Essie polish and had to reapply the polish on chips only 2 days later while the wraps stayed looking fresh.

To apply, I used a pair of tweezers to peel back the wrap and held it under a blow drier on low heat for about 7 seconds then placed it on my nail. I firmly pressed the wrap onto my nail and then used the low heat from the hair drier on my nail to secure it. Afterwards, I used nail clippers to cut the wrap down to the height of my nail, filed down the edges, and voila I was done. No wait times to dry, no worrying about smudges, and the best part of all was no chipping within a few short days.

If you're interested in trying out some jamberry wraps, contact Emily and she'll get you started.

Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket

Last week I asked my friend what I could bring for her Super Bowl party this past weekend, and she suggested pigs in a blanket. Then it hit me that I had never made them myself before, and actually had to google how to make them. I decided to add some cheese to the recipe by stuffing the lil' piggies with some cheddar cheese before rolling them in the dough and baking.

Ingredients

2 tubes of reduced fat crescent rolls
1 package of turkey lil' smokies
Reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese
Mustard for dipping

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Pop and unroll both cans of dough, and cut each triangle into 3 narrow triangles

Slice the lil' smokies just enough to stuff with some cheddar cheese before rolling each lil' smokey in a narrow triangle of dough.

Bake at 375 for 12 minutes, rotating the cookie sheets in the oven half way through at the 6 minute mark.

*Ready for the oven*

*Ready to enjoy*

*Perfect golden brown*

Jokers Super Bowl Weekend

Happy February! Now that January is out of the way, I feel like winter is on it's way out and making room for spring - yes please!

On Friday, H and I did a quick happy hour down by the lake which was the perfect way to end a long week. Enjoyed a yummy cocktail and took in the pretty view during the blah-ness that is January, before heading home to eat and enjoy the fire pit with Roxy.

Saturday was actually pretty productive, I wore my new MK sandals while running errands and getting my oil changed before heading out on a beautiful bike ride.

*I had been worried that the emblem would hurt, but they were very comfortable*

That evening, it was time to head down to City Walk for the Impractical Jokers show at the Hard Rock Live.

*Drinks at Margaritaville before the show*

The guys were hysterical, I seriously could not love them more! It was incredible to see them live, and the next time they're in town I definitely will go see them again. They just kicked off their tour, so if you love the show check their website to see if they're coming to a city near you. If you've never heard of them, to sum it up they're four lifelong friends from Staten Island who compete to embarrass each other in front of unsuspecting people on a hidden camera show. Seriously the only show that makes me laugh so hard I can't breathe. Set your DVR's to pick up their show on TruTV, you won't be sorry!

Sunday was game time at a friend's Super Bowl party. They have an amazing home theater, and always go all out with food and drinks, and we all bring a dish as well. Nothing is better than time spent with friends over good food.
