Faux Leather for Date Night

We have been non-stop over here with all the birthday and theme park fun, and Lil' Miss has not 1 but 2 Halloween parties this weekend. While she's at her gymnastics Halloween party, mom and dad get to enjoy a much needed date night. And I'm excited to break out these paperbag shorts which are insanely comfortable - so bring on the food!

Puffy in Pink

I am all about fun statements, and have been gravitating towards tops with a little extra flair lately. This bodysuit is available in 6 colors, and was super comfy. We headed out for dinner and margs at our favorite local spot, and even Lil' Miss said "Wow Mommy that is so pretty." Heart is officially full! I paired it with this crossover waistband skirt, and should have listened to the reviews to size up because it was super snug. I'm attributing it to the crossover waistband, and the fact that I'm one of the few people who is not the biggest fan of high rise. I'm a mid rise kinda gal. Love the look of this skirt, but contemplating returning it for the next size up. Definitely size up, and you'll be happy as can be.

Smocked for Spring and Summer

It's official I am all in on my favorite time of year for outdoor activities and effortless fashion. This smocked cami is on repeat, and definitely getting packed in my suitcase for our upcoming vacay in June. I wore it to dinner over the weekend, and it was so comfy and perfect for the warmer temps. As the sun went down, and it got chillier I was able to simply layer a cardi over it.

Groundbreaking Florals

"Florals for spring? Groundbreaking." - One of my all time favorite quotes, but it never stopped me from getting excited about floral prints as we get ready to usher in spring with open arms. I ordered this floral maxi dress to wear to the welcome reception at a wedding we're going to later this year in Cape Cod, but couldn't resist breaking it out for date night over the weekend. I love the subtle cut outs and the ruffles at the bottom. I paired it with wedges, but it will also go nicely with flats or sandals.

I watched it go in and out of stock several times before finally jumping on it, and am so glad I did. It'll be perfect for our anniversary trip this summer as well as our trip to Cape Cod in September. So, keep an eye out for your size to be re-stocked if it's not currently there. There's also a solid version of the dress if the print isn't tickling your fancy.

Winter Sunshine

Am I finally playing catch up? Other than being sick for the better part of 2 weeks, not much has been going on. Once we were able to move freely outside the house again, we've mostly been supporting local and enjoying the Florida winter weather (which is more like fall weather up north - chillier but warm enough to enjoy being outside).

Last weekend we hit up a few local spots downtown, and picked up a cupcake from the food truck festival. It was the perfect nightcap and delish!

Lil' Miss finally got her ears pierced, and loves posing for pictures to show off her pretty earrings. Breakfast dates and playground trips have also been on the agenda for my sweet girl.

I've also been working on replacing some basics, and this tank is so soft and perfect for layering or on it's own. I picked it up in teal and in black during Target's 30% off sale which means they were only $3.50! It was perfect for football on the patio of one of our favorite local spots (and their $4 mimosas).

We finally checked out Gideon's Bakehouse and in my best DJ Tanner-Fuller voice - OH MYLANTA they were worth waiting in line for! Instead of heading all the way to Disney Springs, we went to the one inside East End Market. The shop was adorable, and the décor gave me Harry Potter vibes which made it even better! We enjoyed our cookies in their garden along with some tasty drinks from the cutest bar that was upstairs, and were even treated to live music. Lil' Miss climbed one of the trees in the garden, picked me a flower, and danced her heart out to the music. Perfect Saturday afternoon.

*Someone thoroughly enjoyed her cookie by wearing it*

Paisley for Fall

Happy first day of fall! It's still hot and humid here in the sunshine state, but I am noticing traces of fall as the days are getting shorter, the pool water isn't as warm and there is a difference to the heat if that makes any sense. I do feel it cooling down a little.

After traveling last week, I just wanted to lay low over the weekend with my little fam. We watched movies, swam in the pool, and only left the house to go to dinner. Since it was the only occasion where I wasn't in pj's or a swimsuit I went with this paisley OTS dress, and paired it with sandals since it's still so warm. But also styled it with ankle booties below to show how I'd wear it in cooler temps. The balloon sleeves are fun without being "too much". Will definitely be pulling this back out for the next girl's brunch or birthday celebration.

I Finally Caved

I finally did it guys - I caved, and picked up my first pair of non-skinny jeans. This millennial still highly prefers the more tailored and slimming look of skinny jeans, but had fun taking my first pair of boyfriend jeans out for a spin to go to dinner the other night. I chose this pair because they weren't super baggy in the waist area, and I liked the distressed look and that they were cuffed which pairs great with heels, sandals, or a comfy pair of sneaks.

On Tuesday last week, we took the day off for my birthday and headed out to the beach. We lucked out with beautiful weather, played in the waves, and grabbed some lunch on the water. Just what I needed to melt away some stress mid-week. Oh and a box of Crumbl Cookies on the way home - YUM!

And speaking of birthdays, I received the sweetest surprise in the mail from Andrea. So many fun goodies, and she even included a pack of stickers for Lil' Miss who noticed them immediately and squealed!
