Birthday Month Fun

Another birthday in the books, but we are still celebrating over here. I'm looking forward to seeing my nearest and dearest this coming weekend over a yummy brunch (of course).

The weekend before my birthday, my best friend from high school was in town with her family after disembarking from a cruise. It was SO good to see her, and catch up. Our daughters are only a few months apart and instantly bonded - it was absolutely precious watching a 2nd generation friendship form.

Lil' Miss also wrapped her summer baseball season, and experienced Top Golf for the first time with our framily. Some fried food, air swings (for me) and spending time with some of our besties was good for the soul after I had a rough week.

Fast forward to my birthday-eve and I snapped some pics in the backyard for a campaign with Uwila Warrior. I was totally out of my comfort zone not knowing how to present the pieces and showing the world my underwear. Then I decided to break out a cozy robe, and that it's essentially the same as laying by the pool in my bathing suit. Did I mention they are seriously the softest pieces ever?! I'm anti-bra while at home, and I may have been converted.

The next morning, we dropped Lil' Miss off at school and headed to Universal Studios for an adult day of riding all the roller coasters. A stop for my free birthday coffee was on deck, then we headed to Islands of Adventure first where we conquered The Hulk, Velocicoaster and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey before I needed to stop for lunch, ice water and air conditioning. I was starting to feel sick from the heat and being jittery because a girl's gotta eat.

Can we have a moment for these sneakers? Not only are they on major sale {only $36} and come in multiple colors, but they have the best cushion support for walking around all day even in the heat. I was exhausted and feeling sick from the heat, but my feet were completely fine. After being passholders at Disney World and Sea World in the past this is the first time I haven't had issues with my feet. We're also loving our Universal passes more than the other 2 parks, and wonder why we didn't do it sooner.

We decided to walk through City Walk, and stop off for a margarita before heading into Universal Studios. I felt so much better, and re-charged and ready for more rides. We ended up taking advantage of the single rider line for Rip Ride Rockit and rode it 5 times - one of the times I ended up in the front row and another time we were able to ride together. We waited 5-10 minutes tops each time, and are huge believers in splitting up for the sake of time and adrenaline!

Then it was time to pick up Lil' Miss and head to my birthday hibachi dinner (free for your birthday). She was a champ eating with her chopsticks, and of course had to have her own cupcake.

I came home to a fun surprise from Andrea in the mail. She is seriously the sweetest, and always puts so much detail into her care packages. She even included stickers for Lil' Miss who was ecstatic that there was a present for her too.

  1. What a perfect way to celebrate your birthday! The single rider lane makes it so easy to go on rides over and over! Love the photos of you and your little miss!

  2. What an amazing birthday week! How awesome that y'all were able to ride that ride 5 times!! We love using the single rider lines at Disney because Brian can ride the things we don't want to ride, and we don't ever have to wait long for him!
