Wanderlust Wednesday - Punta Cana

I did a short recap last week of my recent trip to Punta Cana to see two of my friends get married, and promised I'd come back for Wanderlust Wednesday and share more details of the whirlwind trip with friends to paradise.

We were all up bright and early to catch a morning flight to Punta Cana, so the long Starbucks line in the terminal was more than worth the wait. Once we all got our caffeine fix, we realized we were on vacation and ordered rounds of drinks on the plane. Southwest has a new drink menu, and their margaritas did not disappoint! I love that you can mix it yourself, and that way it wasn't an overkill on the margarita mix. 

Once we arrived, it was go time! All that stood between us and unlimited drinks, food, and a beautiful beach was our shuttle transfer to the resort... oh and customs. 

Once we got to the resort it was time to hit the pool and the swim up bar with everyone before getting ready for dinner on the first night.

The next day was the big day! But we all hit the beach to relax on the day beds, and then to the swim up bar to hang out before getting ready for the wedding that evening.

Then it was time to get ready for the main event! I went to the spa to get ready with the bride, and then we made our way back to the bridal suite for last minute touch ups and to get her into her gown for her bridal portraits.

The next day was our last full day to enjoy the resort, we enjoyed lots of pool and beach time and a bunch of us walked down the beach to a sister resort - Breathless Punta Cana to check out their facilities and to have a drink on their beach.

That evening it was time for a yummy hibachi dinner before getting dressed up for the Halloween Beach Party under the stars.

The last day called for one more calorie bomb at breakfast, and more mimosas in the pool. My friend and I utilized the swim-out option from our room one last time with some champs even though it was raining.
