Happy 3rd Anniversary

First off, I want to thank everyone for the sweet comments, tweets, and emails the other day. I am utterly heartbroken and I told my mom and H that I feel like a piece of me is gone forever.

....but today is H and I's 3rd wedding anniversary. I can't believe I was attending my cousin's funeral 3 years to the day she was practicing with us at our rehearsal dinner. The pain is just unbelievable and I hate bringing such sorrow and sadness to my little blog, but I'm not going to paint a picture of happiness while I'm experiencing something I hope none of you ever have to go through.

Looking back to this day 3 years ago, I was walking on air. I married the most amazing man, and these past 3 years have been effortlessly easy. We never had that "tough 1st year" that I feel is so cliche. I'm sure we'll have our struggles over the years, but so far so good. We just instantly fit together perfectly and I love who he is and how I am because of him.

Such an amazing day that feels as if it was just yesterday....

How do you say goodbye?

I can't even begin to describe what the past couple of days have been like for my family. We lost my beautiful cousin and my heart is broken.

When I got the call from my mom, I was hysterical and could not stop shaking and was just in disbelief. My cousin who was more like my sister.. who I was inseparable from in high school and college is gone. We did everything together.. shopping, tanning (before we knew how bad it was... we faked n' baked), clubbing, working out, and if we weren't together every day, we were on the phone.

The girl who taught me how to do my makeup, curl my hair, and gave me countless advice even though I was the older one. We were supposed to watch our kids grow up together to be just as close as we are...

She always knew how to bring the party.. if she was there you know we were going to have good time :)

Happy Hump Day! We're halfway to the weekend, oh glorious weekend!

Summer Bucket List

It's felt like summer for a while, but the 1st official day of summer is this Friday, June 21st. And keeping with the spirit of my all time favorite time of year, Emily inspired me the other day to come up with my summer bucket list.

1. As many pool parties and BBQ's as the weekends can possibly squeeze in

2. Lots of nights by the fire pit

3. Fireworks

4. Outdoor movie and foodtruck nights

5. Outdoor concerts

6. Finally get to some of the gulf coast beaches. I've lived here for 3 years and we always end up on the east coast when we go to the beach. East coast = waves but west coast = gorgeous water and sand :)

7. Go out for ice cream

8. Baseball games

9. Rent a beach house with friends

10. Boat rides

Pool Party Shenanigans

Summer is hands down my favorite time of year, and I try to spend as much of it outside as I can making memories :)

~ Friday, after getting home from seeing Superman Man of Steel, we had happy hour at the house and enjoyed pizza and drinks while swimming

~ Saturday morning we made an early airport run with H's dad and Roxy came with us.. her favorite thing in the world is to "go buh-byes"

~ Much needed pedicure, went with a bright pink. My left foot is still banged up from my run in with the pool deck a few weeks ago so no one wants to see that atrocity

~ Later on, there was an impromptu pool party/bbq at one of our friend's houses

~ Pool volleyball

~ Yummy food

~ Fire pit as a night cap

~ Sunday we got up and went to the gym and then picked up a red velvet shake which was totally counterproductive but I let H have most of it ;)

Here's to the weekend!

Oh Friday I've waited allllll week for you and you're finally here!

Today, H's work rented out a movie theater for all the employees and a guest to go see the new Superman Man of Steel movie. Can't wait to spend my afternoon in a movie theater seeing the latest blockbuster and enjoying an ice cold beer or glass of wine instead of in the office :)

I'll be spending the rest of my weekend getting a much needed pedicure, getting my fitness on at the gym, and BBQ'ing by the pool with some adult beverages.
