~ I'm loving that Christmas is less than 2 weeks away! If only I could get H to stop shaking his gifts and trying to guess what's under the tree. I swear sometimes he's like a child!

~ I'm loving all the Christmas cards we've been receiving. I get excited about each and every one!

Tis the Season

Tis the season to be busy fa la la la la la la la LA! Goodness this past week has been absolutely hectic!

Last week, I got into a bad accident and my car was totaled. Worst timing ever! I had zero time to go car shopping, but we made it work. Friday, was H's work Christmas party which was held at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Saturday was our 1st annual Christmas party here at the house. We also squeezed in car shopping on Thursday night and Sunday afternoon.

Friday, I went to get my hair done and had my first blow dry bar experience thanks to inspiration from the fabulous Pam. Then it was time to check into the hotel and get ready for an epic company Christmas party.

Obsessed doesn't even begin to explain how I feel about Harry Potter! I had been to the park twice before, but never got to truly experience it since it's always so flingin' flangin' crowded. They shut down the park and it was open only to H's company and their guests so about 250 people at most. I almost had a tear in my eye as I walked through the shops and could actually take in all the details and even hear Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom! No lines for the rides, unlimited butter beer and pumpkin juice and of course great food and open bar. Such an amazing night!

Hogwarts at night *magnificent*

Inside Hogwarts

I got to ride a Nimbus 2000. eat Chocolate Frogs, and I even sported a butter beer mustache

I was chosen at Ollivanders to test out a wand

After party at City Walk... this may not have been a good idea :-P
*oy*

The next morning, we woke up and checked out and drove home to get ready for our 1st annual Christmas party at the house. I spent the whole day in the kitchen cooking and baking while H mowed the lawn and got the fire pit and patio area ready. We were barely ready in time when guests started arriving.

Soooo much food!

Dessert table
Caprese wreath
Egg nog and gingerbread martinis
Hot cocoa station with marshmallows, chocolate dipped candy canes, and baileys and amaretto nips

I also had buffalo dip in the crock pot, cream cheese sausage balls, peppermint bark, shrimp cocktail, and so many people brought more goodies which was a huge help!

Our 1st Christmas party was a success

The highlight of the night was the gift swap

Such a busy yet amazing weekend! And I'd do it all over again if I could :)

Christmas Party Palooza Weekend

Happy Friday! We've finally made it to the weekend :)

First things first, check out the most amazing giveaway I've ever seen over at Shane's blog "Whispering Sweet Nothings" there are over 35 prizes worth over $600 for the ridiculously lucky winner!

In the midst of all the craziness I have most likely found my new car, but won't make a final decision until the dust settles from this weekend. I will definitely post a pic once I drive it home ;)

I'm sure this weekend will be a total whirlwind, but a very fun whirlwind! We have H's work Christmas party at Universal and then our 1st annual Christmas party at the house on Saturday night. I have so much to do still to get ready for the party, but also need to get a new top for it, and get my hair done for H's party... oy! There just aren't enough hours in a day :-P

I finally finished putting eyes, red noses, and "antlers" on the beer bottles and peppermint bark is chilling in the fridge, but that's just the start! I promise to come back and post as many pics as possible before becoming obnoxious lol.

Friday night, we'll be all dressed up and enjoying good food, butter beer, and dancing in the streets of Hogsmeade. Every Harry Potter fanatics dream come true :-D

Saturday, I am taking a stab at throwing my first ever Christmas party here at the house complete with a hot cocoa station, gingerbread martinis, red velvet cupcakes, and one sad looking gingerbread house.... yeah it was a disaster!

Have an amazing weekend everyone!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Hump Day! We're halfway there... linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday.

~ I'm loving that even though my car is totaled that it wasn't my fault so my insurance rates won't go up and most importantly I'm ok other than some back and neck pain. It could have been a lot worse and I'm thankful.

~ I'm loving that tomorrow is my Friday

~ I'm loving that we have H's epic Christmas party this weekend and our first annual Christmas party here at the house. Busy busy busy!

What are you loving today?

You had a bad day...

If you follow me on instagram you already know that yesterday was not a good day... on my way to work someone tried crossing 3 lanes on the main road I take to work every day and I didn't see them until the last second and ended up smashing into them. Thankfully it was not my fault, as I had the right of way and she never should have been taking such a gutsy chance on such a busy road without being able to see in rush hour!

It was like slow motion once I saw their car and slammed on my breaks, but I knew we were going to collide. My air bag deployed which has never happened before and I was in such a state of shock, that I just started balling my eyes out... and I couldn't stop! I crawled out of the car to see the damage and because the smoke from the air bag being deployed was awful... and I was just crying uncontrollably. I was in a state of disbelief that we were all ok, but that it all happened in the first place :(

My chest was hurting so bad from the airbag hitting me, and my neck and back are very sore, but I know I'm going to be ok and that's the important thing. Being sore with a totaled car is MUCH more valuable to me than any serious injuries.

I was hoping it wouldn't be too bad but alas.. my cute little car is totaled. I only had it for 15 months and I loved that little car! I feel like it was just yesterday that we picked up my new car and I posted about it here. *tear*

I still get teary eyed thinking about the whole thing, but am eternally thankful that everyone involved is ok. As the firefighter at the scene said, "Cars are replaceable, people are not". Soooo very true!

I was still running high on adrenaline, and decided to go into work, which H thought was craziness. After a little while my back was killing me sitting at my desk. So, I took today off to rest and hopefully I'll be more myself by tomorrow.

So now, as if our week couldn't be busy enough we have to throw car shopping into the mix :-P

Christmas Decorating Weekend

I hope everyone had a fantabulous weekend :)

I'm so happy to report that my weekend wasn't crazy hectic for once and I enjoyed every second of it! On Friday, H and I went to happy hour with Emily and her H after work which is always a good time. The rest of the weekend comprised of us getting ready for our Christmas party next weekend. Our house currently looks like a pinteresty-crafty bomb went off in it :-P

We picked up our Christmas tree on Saturday and decided to go with a big one this year since last year our tree looked so puny in the 2 story living room. It was so sad looking lol

The best part is it smells like Christmas!

We listened to Christmas music while we decorated and then watched Elf which was on tv.

"The best way to spread Christmas cheer is by singing loud for all to hear"

Sunday, I was busy working on a bunch of DIY projects for our party next weekend which are of course courtesy of Pinterest.

Menu signs for the food I'm making. Pic on the left is the inspiration from Pinterest, the pic on the right are all the ones I made up and are ready for menu cards.

Reindeer beer bottles... I found the eyes, red dots (noses), and pipe cleaners in the dollar section at Target

I hung up red and gold ornaments from the chandelier in the breakfast nook and the dining room

Such a mess!

I also finally found a dress for H's work Christmas party at Kohls. Please excuse the greasy hair and flip flops :-P

Can't wait to put it all together on Friday and of course for both parties!
