Best in Show

We bid farewell to October with a date night at a new-to-us restaurant where I found the best Aperol Spritz I've had here in the States. Nothing, and I mean nothing has compared to enjoying one in Italy. I've found some tasty ones here back at home, but finally found a spot that makes them almost as good as in Italy. I was almost transported right back to the Navigli Canal in Milan. Almost...

As promised, I rocked the new faux leather shorts, and they were so insanely comfy for all the food and walking around. Highly recommend!

Lil' Miss kicked off her Halloween fun with Book Character Day and a trunk-or-treat at school. Then, that evening she had a Halloween Party at gymnastics. After just those 2 events, she had cupcake and marker stains on her costume and 2 tears in the front. I spot treated the stains, and was able to get the costume to carry her to 1 more party at her friend's house and for the grand finale of trick-or-treating. Those costumes weren't made for rambunctious kindergarteners with a jam packed social schedule. Ha!

H and I broke out our cave people costumes that we've had since 2012. His has even gone international, as he wore it on the beach in Punta Cana when we were there for a friend's wedding over Halloween in 2015. Love love love getting more than 1 use out of a Halloween costume. And we even won a trophy at a friend's party over the weekend for best couple's costume. "The Flintstones" will be back in the coming years I'm sure of it.

I also tried out Andrea's beer cheese dip for all the festive fun over the weekend, and it was DELISH! Do not sleep on this recipe for all the fall fun in November - perfect for by the fire, pre-dinner, an app for a party, Thanksgiving etc... YUM!

October Favs

Hello November, I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! Even though 2020 is still 2020'ing, I loved seeing everyone make the best of the fun costume and candy filled holiday. I'm still so happy that we took Lil' Miss to SeaWorld for their Halloween Spooktacular a few weeks ago, so she could go trick-or-treating as there wasn't much action in our neighborhood on Halloween night. We joined "framily" for some Halloween treats and donned costumes, where I broke out an oldie but a goodie costume that I bought in college and never wore. I even lent it to my best friend one year, and she never wore it either. I pulled it out of it's packaging, and finally took it for a spin. Fishnet stockings and all!

The month of October brought more uncertainty and tough times for a lot of people, but there was still a lot of good. My sweet girl celebrated her 4th birthday, and was a total trooper understanding why she didn't have a party this year. We had our 1st day date since March, and two trips to SeaWorld - 1 for trick-or-treating with Lil' Miss and 1 for just the adults to enjoy no crowds or lines and ride the rollercoasters.

I felt like I didn't do a lot of shopping in October, but then I realized we are pretty much done with Christmas gifts for Lil' Miss which feels AH-MAZING! Santa has already been putting in WORK! I scooped up a new mirror at Homegoods for only $35 for the downstairs bathroom which totally transformed the space, and ordered new curtains for our master bedroom. A new pillow which arrived the next day to help with my chronic neck and back pain - it even has indentations for stomach sleepers which is my kryptonite. Aside from disc issues, I attribute most of my chronic pain due to the fact that I sleep on my stomach and my neck tenses up. We are our own worst enemies right?

Lil' Miss went back to school the 1st week of October, and was SO excited to sport her new Princess Sophia backpack. I didn't realize it until she returned how much she NEEDED to be back at school. Being back with her friends, having more structure, and in a learning environment was exactly what she needed after so many months at home. She is THRIVING, and I'm so thankful I finally sent her back.

Hands down, my favorite purchase for myself all month was this OTS top which I found on major sale for 50% off. It's the perfect piece for the warmer weather we've been having, but breezy sleeves for the fall season.

A Weekend Fit for October

Fall has finally arrived in Florida, and we enjoyed all the festive fun this weekend which included a visit to the corn maze with friends where lil' miss loved spending extra time with Auntie Emily and a Halloween party where we all dressed up in something fun. The weather was perfection, and has arrived just in time for Halloween this week.

On Sunday, we headed to a friend's Halloween party which was also a get together before they head to China for a few weeks. I'm still figuring out how I can fit into one of their suitcases!

But there was a super sweet surprise in store once we got there, they were announcing that they were expecting baby number 2 and it was also a surprise gender reveal party!

Trick or Treat!

Whether you're heading to a Halloween party, taking the kiddos trick or treating, or staying home to pass out candy there are so many fun goodies at the Rosegal Halloween Sale. From fun hoodies to costumes to home and party decor I'm tempted to throw my own party this year!

I'll be dressing up for a Halloween party over the weekend, and then we'll be taking lil' miss trick or treating for the first time. I plan on wearing this fun and festive look to take her around the neighborhood, and can't wait to wear this cozy OTS jack-o-lantern hoodie from Rosegal.
