Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket

Last week I asked my friend what I could bring for her Super Bowl party this past weekend, and she suggested pigs in a blanket. Then it hit me that I had never made them myself before, and actually had to google how to make them. I decided to add some cheese to the recipe by stuffing the lil' piggies with some cheddar cheese before rolling them in the dough and baking.

Ingredients

2 tubes of reduced fat crescent rolls
1 package of turkey lil' smokies
Reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese
Mustard for dipping

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Pop and unroll both cans of dough, and cut each triangle into 3 narrow triangles

Slice the lil' smokies just enough to stuff with some cheddar cheese before rolling each lil' smokey in a narrow triangle of dough.

Bake at 375 for 12 minutes, rotating the cookie sheets in the oven half way through at the 6 minute mark.

*Ready for the oven*

*Ready to enjoy*

*Perfect golden brown*

  13. I love pigs in a blanket!! For a dinner recipe, use a sheet of puff pastry and a regular sized hot dog (I prefer to use andouille sausage). One puff pastry sheet is just enough for two people to have 1-2 hot dogs, and the andouille can be sealed up and used again for another meal. It's just as tasty and is much easier when you're only cooking for a few people.
