Happy Memorial Day + Guest Post

Happy Memorial Day! I hope everyone is outdoors enjoying the long holiday weekend!
You can find me over at Sarah's today talking about my trip across the pond last year while she's over there enjoying all the sites in France and Italy. Nope.... not jealous at all!

Fun Ways to Celebrate Mothers Day

Today, I'm very excited to have Emily filling in for me. I love having a good friend from IRL who is also a great bloggy friend. Make sure you hop on over and check out her blog!

Hi everyone! I'm Emily from Martinis & Bikinis and I'm excited to be guest posting for Kate today while she's across the pond exploring Europe. Kate and I are both Florida bloggers and share a lot in common including the love for shopping, traveling, cooking, trips to the beach and having a great time with friends.

Since Mother's Day is this weekend, I thought I'd share some fun ways to celebrate with our Moms.

Spending quality time with your Mom is probably the best way to show her appreciation. Unfortunately my mom lives across the Caribbean "pond", so I'm unable to see her for Mother's Day but I try to make up for lost time when I do. Some fun ideas for QT with your mom:

~ Spa Day (massage or facial)
~ Brunch/Lunch Date
~ Mani and Pedi
~ Yoga class
~ Trip to the mall
~ Painting class
~ Trip to a vineyard or winery
~ Cooking class
~ Movie matinee
~ Helping out around the house

Gift Ideas:
Zappos Necklaces · clarisonic Brushes & Applicators · Kohl's Decor

How do you plan to spend Mother's Day this year?

Feel free to stop by my little blog space and say Hi!

Winter Beauty Must Haves

I know this winter has been rough on all of us... it just seems like it's been abnormally cold and every time it seems to warm up a little bit, another cold front or storm comes through to bring us back to reality. Even here in FL, it's been unusually cold and I miss my warm sunshine! I mean after all, that's what I moved here for.

So, today I'd like to introduce you to Rachel who has some fabulous tips and products that'll help beat those winter blues. Make sure, you hop on over and check out her blog and say hi :)

Dry skin, dry lips, dry hair…are we seeing a trend here? Yes, winter brings the holidays and, depending on where you live – the pretty snow, but it also brings DRY WEATHER. The type of weather that is not so friendly to your skin, hair, lips – you beauty!

Make sure you stock up with the perfect products to keep yourself beautiful during these colder, dry months. I have put together a list of some of winter’s must-have beauty products; products that will help beat the winter weather.

1.      Hydrating Moroccan Rose Mask – you skin can, and most likely will, get very dry during the colder months of the year. This hydrating honey and rose essential oil mask is the perfect mask, made from only natural ingredients. It will lock in moisture and firm skin, helping to keep your skin looking its best.

2.      Moroccan Argan Oil – Keep your hair moisturized too. We all know how frustrating dry and frizzy hair can be! Argan Oil can help beat the irritating, and unsightly, dry and frizziness that winter can bring to your hair.

3.      Chapstick Hydration Lock – No one likes the look or feel of chapped lips. My go-to, and favorite, lip balm is Chapstick brand. The Hydration Lock will moisturize your lips and keep a lightweight feel.

4.      Hissy Fit Handy Work – Dry skin is the worst, and can hurt. Hissy Fit’s hand cream is a luxurious moisturizing hand cream with SPF 30+ UVA/UVB protection.

5.      {S'wipe out} Refreshing Make-up RemovalCloths – You will most likely be attending holiday parties where you want your makeup to look just perfect. There might even be a few events where you go a little bigger and bolder with your makeup which can make for a struggle at the end of the night. Olay’s removal cloths are a great way to gently remove makeup – even waterproof mascara! And, they are super handy on-the-go.

What are your winter beauty must-haves? What products do you swear by when the weather starts to change?
