Festive, cozy, and quiet weekends are my favorite this time of year. The weather was meh, so aside from taking Lil' Miss and the pup to the park to run around we cozied up at home. We made our annual gingerbread house which Lil' Miss called her "bringe-iss-bread" house, baked Christmas cookies - Grinch Cookies to be exact, mailed out our Christmas cards, wrapped Christmas gifts, ordered in pizza with extra fresh garlic (I guess it's a good idea we were homebound - ha!), and curled up on the couch watching Christmas movies. Ok that's a record for using the word Christmas in an opening paragraph. 'Tis the season...
I have a short week this week, as I have more PTO to burn off before the end of the year. We're taking Lil' Miss out for more festive fun, and I'm also finally getting my hair done. I thought going back to brunette from blonde several years ago would be less maintenance. Not the case! It ends up fading pretty quick and looking dull, and let's not forget the lovely grays that are duplicating by the day. After my hair appointment, I'm looking forward to a day date with the hubs. Happy week before Christmas!
Love watching Little Miss in her buffalo plaid decorate her gingerbread house! You look so beautiful in that suit and kimono! Have a beautiful start to your week my friend!

ReplyDeleteLove your Christmas Card! Have fun on the day date and festivities with S. I’m ready to talk about pools and sunshine every day. I can’t wait to go to the Caribbean ASAP.

Love that kimono! Sounds like you are having fun at home too! We haven't made cookies yet, although that's on my list of things to make, and this year we are going for a gummy train instead of a gingerbread train, but we usually put that together on Christmas eve. I can't wait to see the kids faces when they see what we are making! :)
ReplyDeleteHope that you are having a great week! It's a wet and stormy one here, summer rains have arrived!

Awww your daughter looks so adorable with her making her Gingerbread house. My son does the same thing when he is concentrating! I love that we get two weeks off from school to enjoy the holidays. I feel like it's flying by and I need it to slow down so we can still bake and enjoy the couple of days before Christmas. I would love to go anywhere at this point just to have a change of scenery. I hope you are having a great weekend so far and happy Sunday!

Aww I love how intentional Little Miss is being about decorating her gingerbread house! I love how you're still trying to make this holiday special and keep with the traditions, too. (I keep thinking I want to bake... but it's just going to be us two... and that sounds dangerous, lol.) Hope you all have a great week! <3
