Weekend Wrap Up

Monday, how are we meeting again? I thought I told you we are NOT friends! :-P

I'm happy to report that H and I had a super relaxing weekend which was really nice for a change. Friday, we came home and had happy hour at the house. I made some apps, and we drank our own drinks (whoo hoo FREE!), and watched a Netflix. Great cozy night at home, I love those!

Saturday, I got up early and went to my re-scheduled hair appointment that was originally set for the week before but I was too sick (due to self inflicted pain) to get there. I was sad to find out it was my stylist's last day and she's moving to salon 45 minutes south of here which is a big fat bummer. She was the 1st stylist I clicked with since moving here, and I hate that I have to return to the hunt of looking for another new one. I went to the same stylist in CT for over 10 years, so it was soooo hard for me to find a new one here, and now I have to start the whole process all over again. *vent over*

All foiled up with a yummy cup of coffee

I was lusting after her bag the whole time, and I told her I was going to have to order it. She laughed and said she was going to do the same with my sandals. Ya know.. typical girl stuff!

She did an amazing job, she took several inches off since my hair was damaged and I wanted to bring some pizazz back to it and I was looking for blonde highlights without looking too blonde. I was blonde for 12 years, and H prefers me as a brunette so I've tried to compromise with him half way :)

Ready for our Saturday afternoon errands with my new hair-do

We ran all over the place and picked up some stuff for the house including something to hang over the bed in the downstairs guestroom. That wall was nekked!

I chose We chose this butterfly piece to go above the bed in the guestroom so the wall would have something on it.

We also stopped and got some apps and a pitcher at Buffalo Wild Wings and got to sit at the bar outside since it was absolutely gorgeous out. Not too hot, not too cold.

Then, we went to Super Target (my happy place!) and did some grocery shopping, and I also picked up these beauties on clearance:

$8.98 down from $29.99 they also had a nude color that I wanted but they didn't have my size boooo!

Last but not least, we stopped at Home Goods and picked up a new bed for our princess since she destroyed her old one. Yeah, she's not as innocent as she looks!

Someone loves her new bed!

We took Roxy for a walk when we got home, and a bunch of our neighbors were out working on their lawns or walking their dogs. It was a nice Saturday night early-evening catch up with everyone. One of the many reasons I love the neighborhood we chose. We love how quiet and charming it is, and we lucked out with some fantastic neighbors, a lot of which have become good friends of ours.

Sunday, I made a big breakfast of omelettes, wheat toast, and turkey sausage and we enjoyed it out on the patio with Roxy of course.

She loves sitting with us outside

This is why I love weekend mornings.....

We decided both of our cars needed a bath so we washed both of our cars, and even Roxy got a bath outside while running away a few times. Even on a soft mist, she does NOT like to be sprayed by the hose.

Pearly got her 1st bath!

Nails of the week:

I'm almost done trying out all my colors from the Naked Nails set by Urban Decay. This shade is Smog and it came out a lot prettier than I was expecting.

Hope you all have a great week! :)

  1. PSSST - Good stylists are so hard to find .. I'd drive the 45 mins to stay with the same one. I've followed mine all around.

  2. I seriously must be one of the few ladies out there who does NOT converse with their stylist. I just go to my normal salon. lol I'll talk, but I'm not about to tell her everything going on in my life. It's usually just the normal talk you make with someone you don't know. haha Awkward? Yes.

  3. Sounds like an awesome weekend! Question, how do you get your nails to stay strong when they are long?

I am in the process of trying to get my nails healthy after having fake nails for a month. Though I am itching to get them again, I am trying to save money instead of wasting it on the fakes and not keeping them on for more than a month at a time recently.

    1. Niki I'm sorry but I was unable to reply to you via email :(

That's awesome news about trying to get your nails healthy again. I noticed that the more I paint my nails, the less I bite them and they have more of an opportunity to grow and stay stronger.

  9. LOVEEE your hair! I am going to add a little bit of highlights next time I am just letting my hair grow for a bit without adding more damage. I know what you mean about good stylists - I kept driving three hours to go to my atlanta hair stylist for a year and then finally realized that was crazy lol!
