Summer Whites and Gold Necklaces

Summer Whites and Gold Necklaces

I'm a firm believer in wearing white all year round, and especially love me some winter whites. But there is just something so crisp and refreshing about summer whites. With the 4th of July just around the corner, I have found the perfect white summery dress - just pair with some red or blue accessories, and finish the look with gold necklaces and boom you're ready to sit on a cozy blanket and watch the fireworks!

Maxi Dress {Comes in 5 colors and is less than $30} | Sandals {Only $18}Necklace | Bracelet | Double RingSunglasses | Clutch | Lipstick

I styled this dress with these $18 Valentino dupes and my favorite blush pink and rose gold accessories along with a soft pink lipstick for a subtle pop. I layered the lipstick over my favorite chapstick as a base which helped it stay in place all afternoon and evening. Major bonus points in the summer! Anything that keeps me nice and cool, my hair from frizzing, and my makeup from disappearing this time of year in Florida is a win-win for me!

*Dramatic open back and breezy for the summer heat*

*This dress is also perfect for twirling*

And we can't forget my all time favorite summer white - my wedding dress! Today we are celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary, and it's craziness to me that next year will be a full decade since we said "I Do". Where has the time gone? I can't believe it's already time to start thinking about a big 10th anniversary trip. I remember when that felt SO far away. Also time to start saving my pennies! Nine years, a big move to Florida from Connecticut, a perfect sassy little girl, and further along (and happier) in our careers later... here we are.

Lazy River Staycation

Lazy River Staycation

Last week we decided at the last minute to book a fun staycation over the weekend to celebrate Father's Day - or in the words of lil' miss "Da-Da's Day". On Saturday morning, we packed up the car and made the quick drive down to Hilton Bonnet Creek which is conveniently located near Disney Springs and is now officially a Disney World Resort with complimentary shuttles to and from the parks.

You can also access all the amenities at the sister resort Waldorf Astoria which is right next door. So, halfway through the day we enjoyed the short walk over to enjoy their pool while lil' miss made friends with other kiddos playing giant jenga.

Let's be honest though - we were really there for the lazy river. Lil' miss loved floating along, and I enjoyed the live DJ by the pool playing a great mix of 90's pop and hip hop. Yep - I'm officially old.

Lots of trips around the lazy river and down the water slide - forever the big kid standing in line for water slides. Yummy lunch by the pool, relaxation in the many hot tubs, and delish umbrella drinks rounded out the rest of the day.

After a fun day in the sun, we got ready for dinner. We decided to stay on-site since we were only there for one night to fully enjoy the resort. A post-dinner walk where we spotted some cute little bunnies, a stop by one of the fire pits, and a view of the Disney fireworks from our room wrapped up an amazing day.

Loved the view from our room! The lazy river below along with the beautiful golf course. In the distance, we could see Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. To the right we could see Epcot and Magic Kingdom. It was PERFECT for fireworks viewing that night!

In the morning we enjoyed breakfast with a view of the lazy river by the fire pits before checking out and heading home. It was the perfect little getaway, and even 9 years later I still pinch myself that I live here.

Cloudy, Free, and Local

Cloudy, Free, and Local

After over a month of abundant sunshine, the rain has moved in which made weekend plans kind of tricky. Lil' miss kept asking for the pool, but the weather just wasn't cooperating so we also canceled beach plans. Of course as soon as we loaded up in the car to go grab a drink and some dinner the clouds parted and the sun came out to say hello.

We decided to stop in, and check out the new Loggerhead Distillery where we enjoyed a free tasting and got to chat with one of the owners. I was also excited to be greeted by the "distillery doggy" because who doesn't love sweet pups? With all the local breweries popping up all over the place, it was refreshing to check out a brand new distillery.

We sampled their white rum, vodka, sweet tea vodka, and moonshine which actually was quite tasty. I honestly loved everything we tried and can't wait until all of their products hit local shelves. For now, you can pick up a bottle of their first batch of vodka for $26 including tax.

Loving Lately

Loving Lately

It's been a while since I've recapped my recent favs, so grab your Monday morning cup of coffee and join the fun.

Bring on all the summery fun like this floatie which is on sale for only $17 right now. Get it while it's hot! It's perfect for lounging with a cold drink in hand.

I'm also loving some of my recent purchases like these pajama shorts which are so incredibly soft, and only $15. I love wearing them around the house because we all know once I get home I get into the comfiest clothes possible.

I ordered these flats for work since they're on major sale at a whopping 60% off and because rose gold. As much as I love rockin' heels and wedges, these will be a nice break for my footsies.

My new favorite top for casual fun on the weekend is this swing tank which comes in 2 colors and layers perfectly over a lace bralette or cami. Did I mention it's only $20

Top | Belt | Bralette | Skirt

I'm still obsessed with this palm print bathing suit that I wore on our cruise stop in Cozumel - recap found here. And still obsessed with vacation and our photos and memories from the trip in general. #TakeMeBack

As well as this colorful beach coverup for $23. Seriously been on repeat since I bought it in early spring!

I also need more excuses to rock this romper which is perfect for patio brunches and happy hours in the summer heat.

In other news, I'm almost done with the 2nd book in the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy and it's SO good. I'm going to be sad when I'm done with all 3. Speaking of - does anyone know if they're making China Rich Girlfriend and Rich People Problems into movies as well? They ended the movie for the first book kind of wrapped up in a pretty little bow - which was different from how the book ended so I'm curious.

And if you're not already subscribed to Lindsay's new podcast Influenced the Podcast - what are you waiting for?! Believe it or not, this is my first ever podcast that I've listened to and I couldn't be more excited!

Last, but certainly not least - thank you to everyone who gave me advice when I cried out for help on Twitter for my Poshmark Closet. I am happy to report I made 3 sales last week, and added a bunch more to my "closet". Hop on over to check it out! I know I push a lot of "fast fashion", so I couldn't be happier to contribute to "slow fashion" as well. Reduce, reuse, recycle!
