Sunday Social ~ Childhood Flashbacks

Happy Sunday! Linkin' up with Ashley and Neely for Sunday Social.

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?

~ Having no responsibility! Not worrying about bills, going to work every day, etc.. Everything was always new and exciting and I was naive to the real world. You trusted everyone and believed in everything.

2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?

~ In high school everyone called me Briggs and that's also when "Kutie" was formed. Since my name is Kate.. it's cutie with a "K". Sounds so cheesy, but I love it!

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?

~ The monkey bars! I went to private school where we had to wear dresses or skirts, so since me and all my friends hung out at the monkey bars learning new flips the teachers started mandating that we wore bicycle shorts or leggings underneath our skirts/dresses so when we did flips and stuff we were still "modest". Haha... the things you don't think about in elementary school. I'd be horrified now!

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?

~ An astronaut! I was so intrigued by space and was soooo excited when the movie Apollo 13 came out with Tom Hanks. I pictured myself going to the moon or working on the international space station. I wanted to go to Space Camp soooo bad but it was redonkulously expensive!

5. What was your favorite toy?

I looooved my Magic Nursery dolls! I used to love the mystery of not knowing if you'd get a boy or a girl or if you'd end up with twins! One of the girls in my class got twins and I was sooo jealous. I always ended up with girls but never got twins where they send you another identical doll in the mail.

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?

~ When my next door neighbor and I decided to play "beauty parlor". I cut off all her bangs and she cut off a big chunk of my hair on the side in the front. Needless to say we were never allowed to play beauty parlor again, and we weren't even allowed to work on crafts that involved scissors lol.

Happy Sunday!

  2. Oh wow! A good game of beauty parlor gone very bad! I did that to my brother, but his hair was already pretty short... Honestly I think my dad was more mad that I painted his toe nails pink than the little bit of hair I cut off :)
