Coffee My Way

My favorite thing to look forward to when I get up in the morning is a good cup of coffee. My routine varies throughout the week between the k-cups supplied at work or the Starbucks that is conveniently steps away from said job *yep it's dangerous*. But, on the weekends you can find me in a lounge chair by the pool savoring my coffee out of my favorite Kate Spade mug.

I used to be a cream and sugar girl, and now I can't stand the taste of it. I weened myself down to skim milk and no added sugar, but I do still prefer flavored coffee over regular.

*You can almost hear my giddiness as I wait for it to brew*

My absolute favorite time of the week is relaxing outside with my coffee, and enjoying some greek yogurt and cereal by the pool. It's a nice treat after the hustle and bustle of running out the door every week day morning.

My coffee rituals are a bit different during the week....

I usually make some hazelnut coffee or chai tea in the break room with the supplied (such a nice perk!) k-cups, but some days I like to treat myself by walking across the parking lot for my iced skinny vanilla latte from Starbucks. Those are the best days! Not only are they delicious, but I love enjoying the beautiful walk back to the office amidst palm trees, giant chess boards, and pretty fountains. Yeah, I definitely made the right decision moving to Florida.

What are some of you favorite coffee rituals?

  1. One of my favorite parts of a weekend or a day off during the week is sitting on the couch and enjoying a cup of coffee (usually snuggled with Cooper). It's relaxing and just a nice easy way to start the day! Love that you did a whole post on your love of coffee :)

  2. I have a confession - I have not bought anything at starbucks in over 1.5 years....we have incredible coffee at work - like lattes and everything that starbucks would have so I get it there and it's free lol...I also bought gary a Nespresso machine for Christmas and it's amazing - I love having the latte's at home now too! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  3. Wow, we are coffee twins...from the same Starbucks order to the hazelnut k-cups supplied by work (not to mention taking your flavored coffee with skim milk only, hold the added sugar!). And obviously, I would never turn down cake for breakfast, haha. Coffee date next time you visit NYC? :)

  4. Coffee is definitely the best part of the morning! I try to limit myself to only getting Starbucks once a week, usually as a treat on Fridays. Sometimes I stick to it haha. Also I love the necklace you're wearing in the photos!

  5. I usually don't drink coffee on the weekends and now that I don't pass a single Starbucks on my way into work I almost never get it. I'll try to treat myself to coffee on Friday though, I just usually have to drive out of my way to get it. I would definitely drive out of my way to have cake for breakfast though ;)

  7. Coffee *blissful sigh* It's really dangerous for me. I have to have a cup every morning or else I'm super cranky! And since there's a Starbucks on my way to work I usually stop there on my way in. That's absolutely terrible on my wallet!!! I usually make espresso at home on the weekends and have a cup on the couch cuddled with my pups. Either way, it's an everyday must!

  8. Our coffee routines are very similar. Hard not to do starbucks everyday but I only go 1-2 times a week as a "treat"! Just used my Sephora 15% off yesterday, love it when they have those!!! And I have that Barcelona cami but haven't turned it to the green side yet....after seeing you, hot mama, it's time!!!! And those shoes......to die for!!!! xo

  9. I LOVE COFFEE! I used to only be able to drink it sweet and with creamer but now I can drink it black or with just a bit of half and half. I did find an awesome recipe on pinterest for homemade creamer and loved it for a few months. When I cut dairy out for Whoel30 I realized how much I was drinking my calories. Now starbucks is a nice treat as is creamer. Love your mug!

  10. Coffee is certainly my favorite part of my morning routine. I use the natural sweet cream creamer for my coffee, no sugar. About once every two weeks, I may allow myself a Starbucks run on a Friday morning. Can I just say that I LOVE that green color on the reverse side of your top? Looks fabulous on you!

  11. I love this post idea! I may have to steal it because I LOVE COFFEE and I definitely have coffee rituals! Plus I LOVE that mug, I have wanted it ever since I first saw it like a year ago! I should probably just buy the thing already! Love your tank and white jeans, so fun and summery!

  12. I usually make a k-cup at home and sip while I'm getting ready for work. Then I fill up my cup with Iced Coffee for my commute and to drink with my breakfast at work!

  14. I love to have coffee outside, so glad it's that time again so I can do it on the weekends. Of course I photograph my Saturday & Sunday & vacation coffee for Instagram.

Weekdays I bring or buy iced coffee most of the time. Especially when DD has 99 cent refills in my DD mug!

  15. I LOVE coffee. I also drink the skinny, vanilla latte from Starbucks. Hot in the Winter and iced in the Summer. Love it. I got a Nespresso machine for Christmas and I am OBSESSED. Imagine making your own SVL at home?

  16. I drink a cup (sometimes two) a day and I agree about the excitement for it in the mornings. It's such a nice warm feeling to drink it when you wake up.

  21. I had a really bad coffee problem so I am *trying* to cut back. But I am a huge fan of Starbucks Blonde with 1 small half and half cup. Its so rich with flavor and satisfies me so there isnt another cup right after.
