Wanderlust Wednesday~Lisbon, Portugal

If you missed my recent recap of my trip to Connecticut, NYC, and Boston a few weeks ago you can find it here, because for my 4th installment of Wanderlust Wednesday I'm going to recap my time in Lisbon, Portugal.
Lisbon was the last city on my whirlwind Western European trip in the spring of 2014. It was my first time ever across the pond so I packed in as much as I could while over there. We flew into Barcelona, and spent a few days there before taking a Mediterranean Cruise on the Norwegian Epic which stopped in Marseille, France and Palma de Mallorca, Spain before heading back to Barcelona. Once back in Barcelona, we flew to Lisbon to round out our first European tour. Little did we know the last city was going to be our favorite of the trip!
*Descending into Lisbon on the flight from Barcelona*
We stayed at the Zenit Lisboa which was the perfect walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and our hop on-hop off bus tour we did on our last day. The room was comfortable with a flat screen tv (with both English and Portuguese channels), and we also brought our outlet converter so we could charge our phones, camera, and tablets.
*View from our balcony*
Day 1 - we did a lot of walking around and checking out shops and restaurants near the hotel before heading to dinner.
*Champs is always a good idea especially in Lisbon*
*Caffeine is necessary before a day full of sight-seeing, I ordered a coffee and got an espresso*
Day 2 was all about sight-seeing! We did the hop on-hop off bus tour, and chose to do the red and the green lines so we could see the famous 25 de Abril Bridge (which is the twin sister to the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco) and all of the castles.
*Listening to the bus audio tour guide in English - British English which is my favorite!*
We even stumbled upon a Hard Rock Cafe, so of course we decided to check it out! Very similar to the Hard Rocks here in the States, but definitely some unique menu items.
Lisbon reminded me so much of San Francisco between the bridge twins, the cable cars, the hills, and the beautiful views along the bay.
*Ready for dinner on the last night - loved that adorable balcony!*

  32. What were the unique menu items at the Hard Rock? I like visiting overseas Hard Rocks...and when I think of Porteguese food, I think chicken and tarts. Your hotel choice looks like my choices when I've been to Europe - simple, clean, in a good location. The weather looked perfect while you were there - the skies in the pictures are SO blue!
