Birthday Weekend Favs

Happy Friday lovelies! It's officially my birthday weekend, and I'm ready to ring in a new year of life with great friends, a fresh new do (it's been WAY too long since I've gotten my hair done), and I'm sure there will be the lovely sound of champagne bottles being popped. It's also the beautiful Nadine's birthday weekend, I still can't believe we were born on the same day in the same year. She'll forever be my birthday-twin.

1. I was a wee bit excited to receive my gold card in the mail from Starbucks! But what I don't understand is why the card? Won't I continue to just use the app on my phone to pay and collect stars? Is it just because it's pretty? If so, I'm more than ok with that... I love all things gold!

Speaking of coffee *YUM* my sweet co-worker treated me to a cold brew coffee on Monday, and then my boss treated me to Dunkin on Tuesday. It was glorious...

2. I went to my first local networking event on Tuesday evening with my friend Carrie. We mingled and met some new contacts, and even saw Kerri's favorite penguin showing off all pretty up on the bar. There were so many people there it was actually cooler upstairs on the rooftop deck since there was a nice breeze than downstairs in the air conditioning that couldn't keep up with the crowd.

The next day, I sat in on my first edit meeting for one of the magazines I work on. It was neat to see how it all comes together with the different themes and ideas pieced together.

3. Roxy's favorite day of the month is definitely when her new Chewy shipment comes in! This month she's trying out Dogswell Vitality treats and Rocco & Roxie Stain & Odor Eliminator - well that one is definitely more for us than it is for her.

4. I know so many of you are excited for fall, but I'm still loving summer! I love the variety of my wardrobe in the warmer months with skirts, dresses, shorts, capris, pants, etc... where as in the cooler months I feel it's the same thing on repeat: jeans, boots, and scarves. Yes I love those too, but I get sick of it quickly.

But that doesn't mean I wasn't excited when Katie announced that our favorite vest is back in stock at J. Crew Factory. I keep trying to remind myself I'll only have a handful of days where it'd be cool enough to wear it, but then again I do have a trip to CT in November where I could wear it so I think the purchase is justified. Jump on these vests before they sell out, which we all know they will before it's even cool enough to wear them!
