We had an overnight flight to Barcelona which meant we should have slept on the plane since we landed around 8:30am Barcelona time (2:30am our time), but of course we both only drifted in and out while watching movies. We checked into our hotel right away, but our room wasn't ready yet which was just what we needed to get out and explore the city so we could get accustomed to their time zone and not sleep the day away.
*Very picture heavy post*
*Last glimpse of the U.S. as we flew towards Europe for the 1st time*
*Free beer and wine on American Airlines transatlantic flights*
We stayed at Hotel Barcelona Universal which was within walking distance to La Rambla and other spectacular sites such as the Arc de Triomf and La Catedral. It also had beautiful views from the roof top pool of Mount Tibidabo (Any fan of Friends will be excited by that!) and the Mediterranean.

We were sooooo exhausted, but we powered on through the city :)

Hope you enjoyed my Barcelona pictures, there was so much more we wanted to see but we're proud of ourselves for all the walking and site seeing we did on an hour or two of sleep.
Tomorrow, I'll post pictures from our Mediterranean cruise on the Norwegian Epic which was a gorgeous ship!
