Gala Ready

I gave a preview last week of the dress I wore to my job's annual awards gala, and wanted to give a little more detail. I was lucky to stumble upon a 40% off sale at Express a few weeks ago, and picked up two new cocktail dresses that I can also wear on my upcoming cruise as well which was a huge plus.

Where are some of your favorite places to get cocktail dresses from for fancy events? Now that Victoria's Secret is no longer selling clothes (don't get me started on how upset I am, I've purchased numerous cocktail dresses from there over the years that were perfect!), I've had to switch up my typical hunt when I have a wedding or an event coming up.

    As crazy as it sounds, there was a fabulous dress that a fellow blogger recommended at Forever 21. I bought it for something like $22 and got a TON of compliments on it when I wore it out. No one would have believed it was from Forever 21.

    Royal blue is such a great color on you! A good cocktail dress is so hard to find, especially in store! I have been ordering from Asos pretty much any time I need one because I can never find anything. Great find on this though and on sale!

    Loooove this dress and the blue color is amazing on you. I had no clue they stopped selling clothes at VS, but it makes sense since I haven't gotten a catalog for clothes in some time now. Glad you can multi-use the dress on your cruise!

    looking for a perfect dress for a event used to be my big dilemma but when I transfer to a new apartment everything go easy and breezy. The owner is a dress maker and she is always happy to do it if I need one. All I need to do is present her the design and the picture and she will do the magic:)
