Europe Days 5 & 6: Lisbon, Portugal

I'm finally wrapping up my recap of my first trip across the pond, and I saved the best for last! Absolutely loved Lisbon, Portugal!

I decided to break each city into it's own post, and if you missed any feel free to go back and catch up:

Barcelona, Spain
Mediterranean Cruise on the Norwegian Epic
Marseille, France
Palma de Mallorca, Spain

When we disembarked our cruise in Barcelona, we boarded yet another plane and took a short flight to Lisbon for two nights for the final leg of our European adventure.

Descending into Lisbon = GORGEOUS!

We stayed at the Zenit Lisboa which was in a quiet area within perfect walking distance to shopping and restaurants. It was also just a short walk to a beautiful park where we picked up the "hop on hop off bus" to tour the city. I loved being able to walk everywhere and not needing to take a cab with the exception of going back to the airport to fly home.

We took it easy our first night in Lisbon, and walked around a bit and did some site-seeing before having dinner and some drinks nearby.

The next morning, we had breakfast in the lobby before walking a few blocks to the park to pick up our hop on hop off bus to see the city. *If you are ever in Lisbon, I highly suggest this tour!* We did the 2 pass combo so we did the green line (castle line) and the red line which brought us by the 25 de Abril Bridge.

They pass out headphones when you board the bus which you can plug in and choose from 14 different languages so you have your very own "tour guide" throughout the tour. I loved being able to get off the bus where ever and do my own thing and get back on at my leisure.

Ready for our last night... loved our cute little balcony

*Last glimpse of the bridge as we flew back towards home*

Such an amazing experience, and I am finally done recapping it but I can't promise I won't keep talking about it ;-)

  1. Love the pink dress!! Their bridge is almost identical to the golden gate bridge - I think I scrolled up and down like 5 times to make sure I didn't miss anything!! Lisbon looks beautiful - totally on my destination wish list!

  2. It looks beautiful! I've heard so many good things about site seeing in Portugal. Some of the photos remind me of San Francisco weirdly enough.

  3. Beautiful pictures!! Love your pink maxi dress! We did a hop on/hop off bus tour before we moved to Chicago and it was a great way to see a lot of the city when we weren't familiar with it! So happy you guys had a great trip :)

  5. This post couldn't have come at a better time for me! I'm heading to France with my husband for Christmas (to visit my French family) and I've been looking for somewhere to go to for a weekend whilst we're there. Lisbon was on my shortlist so it was great to get a glimpse into this beautiful city! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous pics x
