Wanderlust Wednesdays ~ Fiji

Welcome to the first week of Wanderlust Wednesdays, I'm looking forward to reading about your travels and what's on your travel wish lists. This series will run every second Wednesday of the month, so look out for it again on Wednesday, June 10th.

I have recapped a lot of past trips, but realized I never did a recap of my honeymoon in Fiji.

Back in 2010 when H and I tied the knot, we knew we wanted to honeymoon somewhere neither of us had ever been. We also knew we wanted to be at a quiet secluded resort, and after stumbling across a review of Qamea Resort and Spa in a bridal magazine we started researching it and knew that was the place for us.

We flew to Las Vegas the day after our wedding, and spent a few days there to break up the long trip heading west. Then we rented a car, and drove through the desert to LA for our 10 hour flight to Nadi, Fiji. We flew in on a huge double decker plane, then hopped on an itty bitty tiny plane to fly to the island of Taveuni.

From Taveuni, we took a boat across the water to the island of Qamea where our resort was. Arriving by boat to the resort was amazing!

*Our first excursion was a hike to the waterfalls at Bouma National Park*

*Afterwards, it was time for a couples massage and some pool time*

It was definitely a trip of a lifetime, and don't for one second be scared off by the 10 hour plane ride to get there. It's totally worth it! Imagine not seeing a majority of this big beautiful world because you didn't want to spend 10 hours on a plane. You end up sleeping through most of it, and when you get there the beauty is indescribable and pictures just don't do it justice.
