Benefit's POREfessional Agent Zero Shine

My favorite time of year to order from Sephora is during my birthday month, and it just so happened that I was out of primer and foundation when it rolled around this year. So, I placed an order to restock my foundation and to try out the new POREfessional Agent Zero Shine by Benefit.

Agent Zero Shine primer

I've always loved every Benefit product I've tried, and I've been on the hunt for a primer that'll keep me shine free throughout the day and fight against the Florida heat and humidity. I was really excited about this new powdery primer they released recently thinking it would be the answer to my oily problem.

After using it for about a week and a half I can say that it works better than other primers I've tried, but I'm still *meh* about it. I still find myself reaching for blotting papers by lunchtime and having to re-apply powder to get rid of the excess shine. I've also found that layering it with the creamy version of POREfessional provides better coverage, but with the price tag of both products combined that's a lot of money for a daily primer regimen.

Loving this year's b-day gift. The mascara works great on my lashes and the lipstick is a fabulous color that'll transition into fall.

Have you found a primer that works great for you and actually lasts like it promises to?

  1. I keep hearing about it but if you have to re-apply midday I don't think it would be worth it. Thanks for your honest review.

  2. I love your thoughts on the POREfessional powder primer. I've never had the urge to try it for myself. I love the original version but this powder one I was always skeptical about. And you're right, for the price of each of these I'm definitely not going to buy both.

  3. Girl, I don't think any make up will stand up against this FL heat and humidity. I feel like I've tried everything and I still get shiny and oily before the day is over. And I feel like even after I reapply powder I'm still oily! Ugh!

  4. I'm so the opposite. My skin is so dang dry. Does regular pressed powder help at all?

  5. Good to know about the porefessional - have you tried their under eye cream - it's supposed to help from the concealer getting into fine lines - just curious because I wanted to try it lol!! I loved the birthday gift as well - such a great mascara!!

  6. I think it works great but definitely doesn't last a full day. Reapplying around lunch time helps me keep the shine under control. With this 99 degree weather it's kind of hard to avoid shine completely.

  7. I tried this out and returned it, I felt like it was too expensive for not lasting all day. I do use and like the Porefessional primer and I set my makeup with Rimmel Stay Matte powder. I have very oily skin, so no matter what I use I have to blot during the day. I feel like I've tried it ALL haha. I do really like the Rimmel powder, and for being only $5 it's a great option :)

  8. I wasn't super impressed with this primer either... and I love pretty much every other Benefit product I've tried! I still swear by Smashbox primer, it's been my go to for years!

  9. I appreciate reading these reviews bc it saves me from having to buy and return (which based on your post and the comments seems like it would have been a definite).

  11. I don't use a primer aside from on my eyelids, but I've heard great stuff about the Perfekt primer.

  13. Thanks for the review. I like primer for my eye lids but I have oily skin and I have not found any facial product that combats that. The blotting sheets have been a heaven sent for me!

  14. The primer I use right now is MAKE UP FOR EVER. But I just bought Tarte's primer to give a try, since I have seriously fallen in love with everything else I have by Tarte. I use their foundation - though it's rare when I do now, usually only on days where I know I'm going to be out ALL DAY. I also use their powder and blush. I am seriously never looking back at any other makeup. lol

I currently only wear concealer and powder since I've been seeing someone for my face. I'm definitely not as oily as I used to be. I know it's because of that, but before I started seeing her, I noticed a difference when I switched to Tarte.
