Chili Eating & Olympics Filled Weekend

How can so much happen in a weekend, yet it seems to go by in the blink of an eye?

Roxy had to go to the vet last week, and got to come with me to the office for a bit and didn't stop panting the entire time. But everyone kept saying how much of a happy doggy she was, and she sure princess and her cushy-lifestyle. Pampered pooch!

Friday, I was honored to have one of my looks featured On the Daily Express along with some other amazing looks from Express. That night, we enjoyed some drinks on our patio before calling NCL to book our Mediterranean Cruise. I am still on cloud nine... I can't believe I'm finally "crossing the pond". Any recommendations on must sees/dos in Barcelona before we set sail?

Saturday, we went to a chili cook-off which was a lot of fun. It just was yucky weather, but sometimes I feel that the rain makes things more fun. I mean look at all our photo opps with our umbrellas? Afterwards, we went to a near-by bar that was having $1.50-$2 domestics specials, so we pulled out our new koozies from the chili cook-off and cheers-ed to another great day with great friends. The end of the day brought on bad decisions involving a round of jello shots which led to more bad decisions at home which I am aware of every time I walk into the garage as I can still see the pizza box in the recycle bin. Everyone needs some cheese, bacon, and a stuffed crust in their life after day drinking in the rain right? Mmmmm bacon *in my best Homer Simpson voice*.

Sunday, was a house cleaning and laundry day and then I retired to the couch for an Olympics marathon (I DVR it all so I don't miss anything and can skip commercials). Who else is mesmerized by ski jumping? I can't get enough!

  1. I did some Olympics watching as well! I love the figure skating, it's my favorite to watch! Congrats on booking your trip!!! So exciting! =D

  2. Congrats on booking your trip - so exciting!!!

  3. Heck yes, Chili Cook-off. Such a bummer the rain was super crappy.
And you probably could have guessed I would ask this... but which bar are we talking about with the $1.50 beers? Hmmmm... hmmmm? :)

  4. EEEEK I wanna go on a trip! How fun was the chili cook off :) ? They have one in Springfield every year and I have always wanted to go. Cheap beers and chili, yep..sign me up!

    & what a great pooch :)

  5. A chili cook off sounds like so much fun! And YAY for booking your trip!! So excited for you guys! We watched a lot of the Olympics this weekend, too - I think my favorite is the figure skating and my husband is dying for hockey to start. Have a great Monday!

  6. Roxy is the cutest little thing!! My dog is named Roxy too, and even though she's not a bulldog (she's the cutest of a mutt mix - German Shepard, rottweiler, hound, and chocolate lab) I love her to bits!

  7. Love the photo of Roxy and the Mediterranean cruise is going to be amazing!! What dates are you guys going?

Fun times at the Chili-fest, umbrellas and all! We need to invent a hands-free umbrella to free up our hands for drinking & eating. haha

  8. We need to have a chili cook off around here, I would be so excited! And can we have Roxy!?

  9. OMG re: Meditteranean Cruise. That's fabulous! I'm excited for you. We were talking about a southern Carribbean one in 2015 or 2016.

Speaking of, do you mind if I repost the guest post I did for you on cruise essentials? It's never appeared on my blog and I'd like to share it.

  10. Thanks so much for the shout out here. :) Glad to have found you and of course, now I'll be stalking your blog for more great Express looks. :) -Gina
