I practically live in a bathing suit this time of year, if it's the weekend you can find me by the pool or on the beach. But being in a bathing suit means I need to keep myself hairless, and shaving = unsitely razor burn...ugh. I was over it. Over shaving every day, over the razor burn, just done! After speaking with some of my friends who had laser hair removal in certain areas, I decided it was time to eliminate said hair once and for all.
I found a groupon for a med spa in the area and paid significantly less than a normal package of 6 treatments, and I couldn't be happier with the results. My biggest advice is if you're looking to get any type of laser hair removal treatment done, look for a groupon/living social deal. I see so many of them each month, and you should never pay full price!
I had 6 treatments that were spaced 6 weeks apart, so I started last fall and had my last treatment in the spring just in time for bathing suit season. I know the first question everyone will ask is did it hurt, and my answer is yes... but just a little. It's honestly not that bad, it's like a little zap on each hair follicle. Most of them you don't feel much, but every once in a while it hurt a little more. Was it worth it? Oh yes! I love not worrying about shaving *down there* anymore and I no longer deal with razor burn.
Have you gotten any laser hair removal? If so, how did you like the outcome?

I'm always a little scared when "removal" is in the title of anything, but glad to hear you had such a wonderful experience!!
ReplyDeleteSo I got it, but the business I did it with was just terrible. 6 treatments wasn't enough, so they wanted to charge me full price to do a whole new session. I did a couple of more and then decided it just wasn't working. They went out of business shortly after... I wish I had gone to someone more reputable! So glad it worked for you though! I may revisit it again down the line :)
ReplyDeleteI really want to do this! Glad to know it wasn't too painful!
ReplyDeleteMy sister did this and was happy with her experience too. Glad it went well.
ReplyDeleteI've thought about getting laser hair removal so many times, I just haven't done it. My friend did it and she said it was painful at the time but now its 3 years later and she said she's never regretted it so that's good!

This is something I've been considering for awhile too but have never taken the plunge...glad you had a good experience!
ReplyDeleteahhh I'm a huge fan of laser hair removal too!! I did it several years ago and dying to go back to get some touch ups!! Best thing ever!
ReplyDeleteI've totally thought about this, like every time I see the groupon! I'm glad you had a good experience.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome, I've thought about it for a while, I would definitely love to. So worth it!
ReplyDeleteGlad it went well. I am always nervous about anything being removed permanently. Styles change through the years, though not shaving is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI've never gotten this done, but I can imagine how nice it must be once it's all done. Shaving is like a chore.
ReplyDeleteI did 6 treatments and definitely need 2 or 3 more for it to be fully gone but it was worth the (groupon) price.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I've always wanted to try laser hair removal! Seems like not having to worry about shaving would be so liberating!
ReplyDeleteI want to do this soooo bad! Good idea to use a Groupon/LS. Glad to hear that you had a good experience!
ReplyDeleteI want to do this SO bad! I am scouring Groupon now! I'm such a wuss - like cry at waxes... how does the pain compare?
ReplyDeleteI got this done in NYC through Lifebooker. I had the brazilian done and let me just say - IT HURT LIKE A MOTHER_EFFER and I have given birth! Hahahaha! It was quick - the whole area was like 15 minutes per visit but during those visits I felt like Steve Carrell in the 40 year old virgin! KELLY CLARKSON! Hahaha! Don't get me wrong - it was worth it. I am not totally hairless but a few more sessions and I should be good to go. I also want to do my underarms after Summer is over. The things we women do for beauty. Geez. Hahaha!
ReplyDeletei always wondered if i should do that treatment, i hate waxing :( i am stopping by from the blog hop and now following your fabulous blog!
