Birthday Weekending Part II

After the fun celebrations last weekend, I was ready for some beach time and brunch which is the best way to cap off a great weekend.

Friday was a low key night at home with some sparkling margaritas, pool time, and a movie night where I proceeded to fall asleep on the couch. It was a long week....
Saturday was time for date day - it was the first time in what seemed like forever that H and I had a day for just the two of us. We went to the beach, then to dinner, and capped off the evening with another move night where I yet again fell asleep on the couch... the struggle.. I'm telling you!
Sunday was time for birthday weekend part II which kicked off with brunch on the lake and then some Sunday-Funday.

What Rhymes with Friday? Champagne.

Why hello there Friday, aren't you beautiful? I'm ready to kick off another weekend of fun and celebration, and hopefully squeeze in some beach time if this darn rain ever decides to stop...
Favorite Surprise - Nordstrom asked if they could share my Instagram photo of my watch from their sale. Of course I said YES!
Favorite Day - My boss gave me a 1/2 day on my birthday, so I decided to pick up my free Starbucks and Firehouse sub (free on your birthday), go shopping with some birthday gift cards, and treated myself to a massage. Since it was my birthday, I had a free add-on for a hot towel foot exfoliation to my massage which was heavenly.
Favorite Purchases - I picked up a few things at Express, and also placed another Sephora order with birthday gift cards from friends and family. This included more blue to add to my collection and some hair products I've been wanting to try out - stayed tuned for outfit posts and product reviews!

Favorite Announcement - Lauren Conrad is releasing a party planning book called Celebrate. I have loved her since her LC days on Laguna Beach and The Hills, and her books Style and Beauty - great coffee table books! And let's not forget I hung out with her bestie Lo in VIP at Shrine back in '08 so yeah I definitely need to get this book!

Sephora Birthday Love

One of my favorite birthday month goodies each year is the free gift from Sephora from their Beauty Insider Program. This year's gift was a set of two mini lip pencils, and I'm already having fun playing around with both shades.

I also ordered the Make Up Forever primer that Katie has raved about and recommended while I've been on the hunt for a primer that'll not only keep my face from becoming an oil slick in the Florida heat, but also not cause me to break out even more. The struggle has been real folks, and I think I've finally found "the one". So far it has been working better than any other primer I've tried, and I'm not noticing an increase in breakouts. I'll definitely come back in a few weeks with a full review.

I also restocked by blush, as I hit the pan on my NARS Deep Throat, and wanted to go back to my favorite baked blush from the Sephora Collection. To top off my order, I added an offer code for the VIB Appreciation Sample Bag (Offer code is VIBTHANKS) which was packed full of deluxe samples

Summer Workout Outside of the Gym

I talked about how I stay in shape here, but this summer I also started incorporating some more variety into my workouts outside of going to a gym. When someone from TKO reached out to me to try out their jump rope I was excited to add it to my routine. I've been combining the cardio from the jump rope with a great arm workout I found in Glamour

I love the ease of working out at any time and in any place, and I love how this piece has brought me back to days of playing outside when I was younger.

TKO workout ropes are affordable and fun. At minimal cost, they add variety to your fitness routine resulting in less boredom and an enjoyable way to get past an exercise plateau.

Birthday Fun in Pink

To kick off my birthday weekend, I stayed in the area with some friends for happy hour. I wanted to wear a light dress (in the 95 degree weather) in a fun color to start the celebrations, and my Express Skater Dress did not disappoint.
