Thoughts on a Monday

Is that even a thing? I know there's Thoughts on Tuesday, but we're going to make it a thing today. It's been a while since I've done a good catch up post.

I lucked out with another fabulous Kat Von D voxbox, this time it was to test out the new Saint and Sinner perfumes. I love the light and airy floral and vanilla notes of the Saint, and when I'm feeling more spicy I will reach for the Sinner scent.

How darling is this elephant clutch? I won it at my friend's baby shower last week and it's hands down the best gift I've ever won from those shower games.

How is my baby 9 months already!? Time is absolutely flying, and I have to keep reminding myself she's not my itty bitty baby anymore. Plans have been in motion the past few weeks for her 1st birthday party - craziness! The theme and the date have been narrowed down, and the custom cake has been ordered.

The news of Chester Bennington's suicide rocked me more than I expected. Maybe it's because I've loved Linkin Park since they hit the scene, maybe because I remember rockin' out to them via Napster downloads, maybe because we got to see him showcase his amazing talent live on stage, or maybe it's because the wounds are still unbelievably raw of losing my cousin. This is not a subject to be taken lightly, and I can't stress enough that no matter how hard things are they will always get better and there is so much and so many to live for.

My college self was a tad too excited for the limited release of Zima. I also had a strong love for Smirnoff Ice back in the day, but we all know Zima was the original. My fabulous neighbors brought them over a few weeks ago, and we've been enjoying them here and there with sweet sweet nostalgia.

I may live in Florida, but I definitely spend the majority of my time in the pool during the summer months. Life is just better in the water, and it's so relaxing and good for the soul after the hustle and bustle of the work week.

Speaking of good for the soul ~ $3 mimosas all day at a local sports bar and no dress code at work. Casual Fridays equal shorts!

Lock it Up

I hope everyone had a fabulous Labor Day Weekend, that extra day off makes such a huge difference especially when it's a Mun-day doesn't it? My long weekend was filled with shopping, lots of great food, pool time, college football, and a trip to Disney Springs. And even in the Florida heat, my makeup stayed in place without melting off after brushing on the new Kat Von D Setting Powder.

I was impressed that they sent full sizes of everything to test out, and can't get over the amazing coverage of the concealer in both shades. The brushes are high quality and super soft, and apply the concealer and setting powder flawlessly.

The concealer is perfect for covering up dark under eye circles and acne scars, while the setting powder locks your makeup in place and it keeps it looking matte even in the heat and humidity. Plus it adds a subtle glow to finish the look.

Weekending

Another summer weekend has come and gone, and here we are in the middle of August! How is it already my birthday week?! Cheers to all the coffee to get us through this Monday!

It was a good mail week, and I was excited not just for my Tory Burch b-day gift to arrive (details on my favorite birthday month freebies in Friday's post) but also that I received my latest voxbox from Influenster.

I was impressed that they sent full sizes of the Kat Von D Lock-It concealer, setting powder, and brushes for testing and review. The brushes are super soft, and I can't wait to have fun testing out what looks like a fabulous line.

On Saturday, I baked some homemade some funfetti donuts before some friends came over. The guys painted the nursery while the girls had some pool time, and then we all enjoyed some dinner and a movie.

We went with "sassy lilac" on three walls, and did an accent wall of a silvery gray for the nursery. The guys did such a great job, I may or may not have teared up when I saw it all finished.

Sunday was about relaxation and some online shopping. Is it just me or does coffee just taste better on the weekends when it can be enjoyed while relaxing outside on the weekend?

I can't stop buying all the dresses! I typically live in dresses during the warmer months as they're so much more comfortable in the heat, but with my growing bump it's been nice not to worry about waist bands while also staying cool. So, I scooped up two more dresses along with a flowy criss-cross top, and a pretty pinky ring to add some instant pizazz to any outfit.
