Crisscross and Winter Whites

I have a thing for fun every day pieces that can be dressed up or down. During a recent trip to Kohls, I spotted this top and loved the crisscross in the front as well as the fun detailing in the back as well.

Jewel Toned

I can't get enough jewel tones, and I'm immediately drawn to these colors in my closet right now. This top I scooped up at Express a few seasons ago is the perfect shade of green, and it's oh so cozy and light weight for Florida fall.

Top {old} and Cuff {similar} - Express |  Jeans {50% off} - Rag and Bone | Shoes {similar} - Soludos | Lipstick in Smile - Girogio Armani | Sunnies - Le Specs | Necklace and Double Ring - Kendra Scott

The Other Painted Ladies

We hit the ground running in San Francisco, and packed our short time there with several fun tours hitting up all the must-see and of course touristy spots. Our first full day started off with a delicious breakfast at Boudin Bakery before taking the ferry over to Alcatraz.

On the tour, you're given headphones to wear that you press play on when you get to a certain point. The tour guides are former correctional officers and even a few inmates, and they tell you where to walk and when to stop so they can describe certain places and events from when the prison was open.

After Alcatraz, we took an Uber into town to track down the Painted Ladies and then walked about a mile to find the Full House house which is on Broderick Street. Much to the disappointment of my friend who didn't realize the Painted Ladies were beautifully painted houses on what is known as "post card row". He was looking forward to the other kind of painted ladies that you may find in Key West. But he was a good sport, and let us girls take pictures and pose on the steps of the pretty blue house before making our way over to the Tanner's to see if Uncle Jesse was home.

*So surreal and even more beautiful in person*

1st night in San Francisco and travel style recap here.

Seeing Green

One of my all time favorite tops is the Barcelona Cami from Express. Not only is it reversible and essentially two tops in one, but it can be worn all year either on it's own or under jackets and cardigans. It was perfect for a relaxing day at a local coffee shop and for drinks on the lawn at the brewstillery.

Top - Express | Jeans - Rag and Bone | Wedges {old} - DSW | Sunnies {similar} and Bag - Kate Spade | Necklace and Bracelet - Kendra Scott | Lipstick in Sunset Cruise - Burt's Bees

Wrapped Up in Neutrals

We don't get many chilly days here in the sunshine state, which is why I moved here from the northeast. So, it's nice that when the temps do drop for a few days due to a cold front that we actually appreciate them, and get to break out fun items like scarves, sweaters, and boots. I'm a huge fan of winter whites, and am smitten with this neutral plaid scarf H got me for Christmas from Nordstrom. Of course, I had to break it out to combat the chill in the air last week.

Cozy Weekending

A cozy quiet weekend after the hustle and bustle of the holidays was exactly what we needed. And with the super chilly temps that moved into the sunshine state baking, going out for coffee, and binge watching a new to me series on Netflix with glasses of rose was even more perfect.

I've been going through Downton Abbey withdrawals, and was super excited when I heard about this new Netflix series based on Queen Elizabeth II. It doesn't have the humor that I really enjoyed about Downtown Abbey or the close look at both upstairs and downstairs, but it's another amazing story about British royalty/aristocracy that makes you want to continue watching until that empty feeling of no more new episodes.
