History and Stripes

After living in the sunshine state for almost seven years, I had only been to St. Augustine once and that was a few months ago for a friend's birthday when I was only a few weeks post-partum. I couldn't wait to go back with H and explore some more, as well as go on tours at the winery and the distillery.

One of our first stops was at the St. Augustine Distillery, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Ice Plant Bar which is in the same building as the distillery. I couldn't get over the beautiful space, which is in an old industrial building from the 1920's that used to make ice for ice boxes before refrigerators became the next big thing. I love how they kept the look of the prohibition era even down to the employees' uniforms.

I added a fun fedora hat as a pop of color to my striped dress and denim jacket. It was the perfect piece to give my look a little something extra.

We also visited San Sebastian Winery which is only a street over from the distillery for another tour and tasting. My favorites of course were the bubbles and blush wine appropriately named Blanc de Fleur and Rosa. They both of course came home with us in bottles.

After the winery and distillery tours and tastings, we ventured into town for some site seeing and popped into a few restaurants and shops. We stopped at Taberna del Caballo, and I had to try the chocolate brownie trifle. It was absolutely delish!

We capped the day off with driving over the bridge to St. Augustine Beach, and grabbing some drinks at Salt Life Food Shack. The views of the beach from the rooftop bar were gorgeous, and as I sipped on some bubbles and watched people playing beach volleyball I was reminded from the millionth time why life is so much better in Florida.

Holiday Party Ready

Tis the season for all things sequined, shiny, and lace. I also love that cut-outs and open backs are still big this year, which are a fun way to show a little extra skin while still keeping it classy. With all the holiday parties and get togethers coming up, now is the time to deck yourself out in sparkles or try a bold new make up look.

Weekending + September Favorites

I thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing no-plans weekend for the first time in weeks, and it was glorious! Dinner out, shopping, football, and a fun-filled blog photo shoot with one of my buddies on Sunday to cap off the relaxing weekend which included post-photo shoot mimosas. Oh and did I mention the weather was absolutely perfection? Sunny skies, low humidity, and temps in the upper 70's - yes please!
Friday was time for dinner out with some hibachi action. I won the monthly instagram contest for my favorite hibachi place, and they credited my account so I could go have dinner on the house. Of course it was entertaining and delish!
Saturday was time for shopping before settling in for the evening to watch football and bake homemade apple cider donuts (recipe coming next Tuesday in Emily and I's bi-weekly recipe swap). I picked up some fall goodies while shopping, and finally caught this skirt in store (fabulous fall find, but keeps selling out) at Express.

Sephora Birthday Love

One of my favorite birthday month goodies each year is the free gift from Sephora from their Beauty Insider Program. This year's gift was a set of two mini lip pencils, and I'm already having fun playing around with both shades.

I also ordered the Make Up Forever primer that Katie has raved about and recommended while I've been on the hunt for a primer that'll not only keep my face from becoming an oil slick in the Florida heat, but also not cause me to break out even more. The struggle has been real folks, and I think I've finally found "the one". So far it has been working better than any other primer I've tried, and I'm not noticing an increase in breakouts. I'll definitely come back in a few weeks with a full review.

I also restocked by blush, as I hit the pan on my NARS Deep Throat, and wanted to go back to my favorite baked blush from the Sephora Collection. To top off my order, I added an offer code for the VIB Appreciation Sample Bag (Offer code is VIBTHANKS) which was packed full of deluxe samples

Blogger Blame Purchases

A few weeks ago, the beautiful Mia posted about purchases she made that she "blamed" on other bloggers called The Blogger Made Me Do It. I loved the idea, so I told her I was definitely stealing it, because it's so true! So many of my fashion, beauty, and home decor purchases come from all of you wonderful peeps!
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
Blogger to Blame: Biana
I had been a huge fan of Benefit's Erase Paste for several years to cover up my hereditary dark circles under my eyes and any acne marks, but Biana kept raving about this concealer so I gave it a whirl. And of course she was right, this is definitely my go-to concealer now because I love the consistency better and that it has a built in wand.
Kate Spade 'Cedar Street - Monday' Crossbody Bag
Blogger to Blame: Emily
I had been on the hunt for a designer crossbody bag for my upcoming trip to NYC and Boston, and I had always loved Emily's Kate Spade crossbody, so when I saw this one a part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year I jumped on it (it's still available if you're looking to snag this beauty at a great price!) Can't wait for it to arrive in the mail.
Strappy Back Halter Triangle Bikini
Blogger to Blame: Amanda
As if I needed another excuse to love Target, when Amanda posted about this bikini top I knew it needed to be added to my beach and pool collection.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector
Blogger to Blame: Deborah
Deborah always looks fabulously flawless, so when she gives beauty product recs I usually run instead of walk to go get them. She introduced me to the Becca line when I was on the hunt for a new primer, and I also fell in love with this shimmering skin perfecter. Amazing highlighter which achieves a beautiful glow.
Muji Acrylic Makeup Drawers
Blogger to Blame: Katie, but unfortunately she doesn't blog anymore. You can still keep up with her on twitter and instagram.
I knew I needed better makeup storage instead of a basket on my bathroom vanity that I was constantly sifting through. These drawers were not only super affordable, but I love how they display and fit so many of my favorite products.
Oasap Convertible Striped Maxi Dress
Blogger to Blame: Blair from Peaches in a Pod
As soon as I saw this dress on Blair, I knew I needed it to find it's way to my closet. Then I saw the price and it was a match made in heaven! Only $23 + free shipping win-win!
Express Barcelona Cami
Blogger to Blame: Gina
Gina always looks effortlessly flawless in her predominately Express wardrobe, and I loved the different Barcelona camis she's styled numerous different ways. My favorite part about this cami aside from the flattering fit is that it's reversible so it's essentially two shirts in one.
Rocksbox Subscription
Blogger to Blame: Kristina
A subscription box for pretty baubles? I couldn't sign up quickly enough, I always tell everyone who compliments my pieces that Rocksbox is "like Netflix for jewelry".
Table Lamps for the master bedroom
Blogger to Blame: Katie
We both have these awesome lamps from Target on our bedside tables in our master bedrooms. Such a beautiful touch without breaking the bank.

What are some of your favorite purchases that you "blame" on other bloggers?
