Blissful Weekending

I'm feeling refreshed after a luxurious mani-pedi at the new Bliss Beauty Bar. Their location on Lake Killarney provides beautiful views, while relaxing to tranquil music (no overplayed radio tunes here) and bonus points for not having to find another parking spot to pop into Trader Joe's after to stock up on bubbles, snacks, and fresh flowers.

As soon as you step inside, you're greeted at the front desk which sits underneath a gorgeous chandelier. The pedicure area is to the right along the large windows for views of the lake, and the manicure area is to the left. I like that they kept these two service areas separate so those receiving a pedicure can truly relax in a spa like atmosphere, and those receiving manicures can enjoy watching one of the tv's or carry on conversation without disturbing those on the other side.

I enjoyed a deluxe pedicure which includes a warm soak, nail grooming, cuticle trimming, and callous removal. Then you're treated to an exfoliating sugar scrub (I chose pomegranate which was amazing!), a soothing foot mask, and a warm towel wrap. Everything was finished off with a hydrating lotion, and polish to match the color I chose for my first ever dip powder manicure.

After an amazing pedicure, I made my way over to the manicure stations to experience my first ever dip powder manicure. I was instantly sold on the natural powder and no need for UV light that comes with a gel manicure. The look and feel is the same quality of gel with longevity of 2+ weeks of chip free shiny nails. Win-win!

Central Florida friends, next time you're on a Trader Joe's run or fulfilling a craving at Shake Shack (ok now I'm totally craving one of their shakes) stop in to Bliss Beauty Bar for some much needed pampering.

  11. Just reading about this makes me feel relaxed! It is nice that they have the two place separate so you feel like you’re at the spa and not getting hurried from one service to another!

  17. This place sounds wonderful!!! I bet the perfect treat after all the daycare germs you have encountered over the last few months! The place looks so pretty, love the decor. And being near TJ's for snacks after is definitely an added perk!

  18. This spa looks absolutely gorgeous! And a beautiful location too. I have been wanting to try the dip powder manicure, but I have heard it's more damaging to your nails that the shellac? More like artificial nails? Glad to hear you had a good experience. So awesome it stays for 2+ weeks!

  26. Looks like a gorgeous and relaxing spa! I'm so overdue for a mani and pedi. I love that it's in the same plaza as TJ's so you can get some grocery shopping out of the way since the parking situation is tight there! Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis

  28. What a beautiful spot! I love A good scrub and pomegranate sounds divine! We do NexGen (a brand of the dip) where i work and i tried it when we first launched it 4 years ago and my nails are so thick and grow so fast that the powder just chipped on the sides too easily. It is a wonderful option and so much healthier for your nails!
