My Little Mermaid

I may be a week late, but my heart is still full from all the love celebrating baby girl and her first birthday party. After months of planning, pinning, and shipments arriving from Etsy and Amazon I can't believe the day has come and gone.

I chose the theme of "Our Little Mermaid is Turning One" since girlfriend loooooves to be "splishy splash" at bath time and swimming in the pool. I didn't go full throttle with the Disney movie theme, just mermaids in general which turned out great with the lavender and teal color combo.

The cake was made by my very talented neighbor, and she even included a 4 inch smash cake that was made without eggs since Serena has a minor egg white allergy. If you're in the Central Florida area, and ever need a cake baker let me know and I'll send along her info. Her cakes taste just as great as they look!

"Sand" was brown sugar

Favors

I knew I didn't want to just give away cheap dollar store trinkets that will go right into the garbage, and I also didn't want to fill up the kiddos with a bunch of candy with Halloween a few days after the party. So, I ordered some small beach pails and filled them with goldfish packets to keep with the theme.

*Silverware was of course appropriately named Dingelhoppers*

Menu was specified on the invite of finger foods and cake

Sea Shell Pasta Salad
Seaweed Dip (spinach dip)
Buffalo Chicken Dip
Shark Teeth (white cheddar cheese triangles)
Fruit and veggie tray
Sea Snails (pigs in a blanket)
Driftwood (pretzel sticks)
Peanut Butter Jellyfish (tried cutting them into stars using a cookie cutter, and that was a major fail)
Seaweed (green grapes on skewers)
Waves (wavy potato chips)
Mermaid Cous Cous
Under the Sea Cake
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
Beer, Wine, Bubbles, various liquors and mixers, and Signature Cocktail for the adults
Water, Juice, and Soda for the kiddos
Cake by the Ocean - Signature cocktail for the adults
