It was all a dream

All I can say about Sonoma and Napa is that they were straight out of a dream. I knew that whenever we made it out to San Francisco, that a tour to wine country was an absolute must. It's about an hour outside the city, and there are so many great tours to choose from.

The tour started with a mimosa toast while driving over the Golden Gate bridge, and then we stopped to get out and take pictures. The bridge is absolutely amazing to see in person, and in the words of Regina George is like really pretty!

Then it was onward to our first stop which was at Cline Cellars in Sonoma. The tasting was held outdoors, and was the only free tasting of the tour which was a huge plus. We sampled several wines, toured the grounds, and of course took fun pictures in the vineyards.

Our second stop was also in Sonoma, at Nicholson Ranch Winery with another beautiful outdoor tasting and tour of the vineyards. The views were spectacular, and pictures just don't do this place justice especially since it was super sunny and a lot of the pics are washed out.

Our third stop was in Napa at Kieu Hoang Winery where we enjoyed our tasting as well as lunch on their beautiful deck off the tasting room. A picnic lunch with local wine while overlooking the vineyards in Napa Valley - priceless!

Last, but certainly not least was another stop in Napa at Mario Andretti's vineyard - Andretti Winery. Another beautiful setting for a tasting which was outside under a tree canopy overlooking the vineyard and rolling hills.

On our way back to the city, we drove over the Bay Bridge which was another dream come true! This is the bridge that lights up at night, and is truly a site to see. We grabbed a drink at a bar downtown with another couple from the winery tour before riding a cable car back down to our hotel to get ready for dinner. Worth every bit of the $7 to ride the cable car, and riding outside is a must!

  25. What a fun tour and so great you got to fit both Sonoma and Napa in one day. The weather looks perfect for some winery touring and you got lucky catching the GG bridge on a clear day because it's usually quite foggy. I'm dying to do a girls trip to wine country and this tour sounds like the perfect way to get all the sights and scenes in without having to drive yourself around.
