Happy Friday everyone! Linkin' up to fill in those blanks with new-momma Lauren at The Little Things We Do
1. My favorite room in my home is the family room since that's where we spend most of our time and where we relax and unwind after a long day at work.
2. My current decor style is classic and modern kinda mixed together. I'd love to make my house into a Crate & Barrel or Pottery Barn catalog *sigh*.
3. I wish I could redecorate the master bedroom in my house to make it more finished. Right now it's pretty empty, and we'd like to upgrade our queen to a king with a tufted headboard *drool*. I'd also like to get new bedding, paint the walls, get some more artwork, an electric fireplace, and 2 chairs for reading. I want our room to be an oasis when we have kids as a place to just relax away from all the chaos and toys.
4. My dream house absolutely has to have a pool. The house we have now is perfect, except it's missing a fireplace and a pool. We were going to have one installed for this summer, but money doesn't grow on trees apparently so it's going to wait some more.
5. One house item I am willing to splurge on is a pool. I can't wait to just open up my back door and jump in. I want to lounge around my own home on the patio, sipping margaritas and sunning myself in privacy without using someone else's pool or going to a public pool. I can't wait!
6. A decor trend that I just don't "get" is why everyone has to have granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and hardwood floors. Granted, our house is a new build so the stainless steel appliances and granite countertops were a part of the package, but I originally wanted quartz countertops and I didn't want hardwood floors. I enjoy the comfy feeling of walking on carpet, plus most people use an area rug and cover up most of the hardwood anyway so I don't see the point. My grandfather was too funny, several years ago he was ripping up the carpet in the living room and joked, "Well, I've still got the hardwood floors under here from the last time they were a fad". What he was trying to say is they come and go, so they laid carpet over them when they were no longer the "it thing", and now they are again, so he made them reappear.
7. Our adorable bulldog is a little touch that makes my house feel like home. There's nothing like her running up and greeting us every time we come home to make our house feel like a home.
Hope your weekend is wonderful!

A pool would be great! I'm dying for one! What I won't buy though is a house without a fireplace. Especially since I live in the north -- it's too cold!
ReplyDeleteI think a pool would so fun - if I didn't have to take care of it. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm not a huge fan of hardwood floors either, but mainly because of Sammy - he'd scratch them horribly. So we put down linoleum even though hardwood came with the house. I'd like to eventually get it replaced with tile though.
