Novel Lucerne and Sweet Treats

Last weekend, I had fun touring the beautiful new Novel Lucerne located just south of downtown Orlando or as us locals call it "SoDo" (South of Downtown Orlando).

Romper {Only $21} Sandals {Only $19}Sunnies | Clutch | Necklace | Lipstick

We started off in the beautiful clubhouse overlooking the pool with of course mimosas. I mean... is it even a blogger event without mimosas?

*How gorgeous are those floors*

We were also treated to a braid bar by Blo Orlando and I rocked my fabulous side braid for the next two days wishing I could re-create this look on my own. Why am I such a dunce at doing my own hair?

We enjoyed a yummy brunch before setting out on a tour of the various amenities and the units themselves. The first stop after the pool area was the on-site fitness center.

......and yoga?! YES please! Namaste.

Time to head out to the beautiful pool area with my new beach bag!

Moving back inside, we checked out the beautiful mail room reminiscent of Diagon Alley.

The first unit we toured was a one bedroom with a den, and I still can't get over all the beautiful touches and the huge balcony overlooking the pool.

LOVE the extra large balcony that has an entrance from the living room, and another from the master bedroom.

*BRB - moving in!*

We then went over the skywalk which boasted a view of the downtown skyline to go tour a 3 bedroom 2 and 1/2 bath unit. But first... was a stop at the elevated courtyard complete with a greenery wall.

As we made our way downstairs, we stopped into the art gallery which is also where you wait for your Uber or for your Uber Eats order. In a space as pretty as this, I'm pretty sure that's where I'd enjoy my takeout!

We capped off the fun tour with sweet treats from Cay Cakes which specializes in organic and allergen friendly baked goods. I took home a brownie and a chocolate chip cookie to enjoy with the fam, and we all gave the treats two thumbs up. Delish!

As I mentioned here, I had a huge internal struggle regarding whether or not to share my picks from the infamous Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Ultimately, I decided to share affordable finds along with a bunch of "wear now" pieces. Because honestly, I'm beyond OVER seeing a bunch of people wearing the same cardigans and boots in the middle of July. All of my picks are under $100, and in most cases well under $100. And drum roll please.... the sale is now open to everybody! Happy Shopping!

My Fav Picks

  • This casual tee comes in 5 colors and is only $11.90
  • These ankle booties had me at waterproof - especially in the sudden Florida afternoon downpours.
  • I can't get enough bright colors lately, and this lightweight sweater is everything! I want it in green and yellow! Help me decide!
  • I'm so flingin' flangin' excited denim skirts are making a comeback, and this one pairs great with sandals now or a pair of boots when the fall air moves in.
  • Did someone say Kate Spade earrings for less than $25
  • I live in faux leather leggings in the cooler months - and these are guaranteed to sell out quick so act fast!
  • This top can take you from the office to cocktails, and is perfect for the summer heat or layered under a cardigan.
  • Zella can do no wrong (and neither can the athleisure trend, which better be here to stay) so I'm loving the color of these leggings. Did I just leave a barre class or come back from a Target run? The world will never know....

Dressing for Myself

It's no secret around here that I love a good graphic tee, and since it's the heat of summer I loved that this fun tee came as a tank to help beat the high temps and Florida humidity. Once the temps drop (who am I kidding - they won't be dropping until some time in November which is ok because I'll take this heat over a bitter cold winter any day), it will also layer nicely under a cardigan or chunky sweater.

I was so excited to score another great piece from Blooming Jelly after rocking this breezy top (which is also work friendly - double win!) that I featured in this blog post back in May. So, I decided to switch it up a bit and instead of styling this graphic tank with my usual go-to jeans or shorts I went for a feminine wrap skirt which makes the whole look work friendly. I'm all about versatile pieces these days that have multiple uses and I can get the most usage out of.

Another fun top from Blooming Jelly that can easily go from the office during the day to happy hour cocktails is this Striped Belted Waist Blouse. It pairs great with some white denim or a black or gray pencil skirt, just add a pair of heels or wedges.

A Spritz and a Sale

We are in the height of summer, and I'm loving every second of it! These summer weekends are the best aren't they? In-between fun events, I've been spending as much time as possible in the pool and lil' miss is sharpening up her swimming skills post lessons which makes me so proud. She's definitely my little fishy!

I was excited when Rita's reached out to me to send over a care package full of goodies to help celebrate summer. I remember not being a huge fan of the Bud Light Lime-a-Rita's in the past because they were super sweet, but their new Rita's Spritz line is much more my style. And how fun is that round beach towel and cute crop top? I haven't rocked a crop top since freshman year of college, but it was the perfect tee to lounge by the pool in.

I struggled for a while, and went back and forth A LOT about whether I even wanted to share my picks from the infamous Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I have honestly been grossed out watching InstaStories this past week and seeing people act like it's something to brag about to walk out of the store with bags and bags of stuff and show off a receipt similar to CVS (no easy feat!). It's not #goals - at all. Plus I can't get over how summer just started, and all these girls are sweating it out trying on fall fashion that no one even in the colder areas can possibly wear for another 3-5 months.

However, outside of our blogging bubble no one seems to even know there is a huge sale going on. So, for my readers who haven't been over saturated with the same content over and over (and over!) and would be happy to see affordable items from the sale including some wear now pieces - voila! Every single item I'm sharing is under $100, and a lot are between $12 and $35

On a side note - the sale is currently only open to those with a Nordstrom card (I have the debit card which is linked to my checking account - you do NOT need to open up a store credit card), but will be open to everyone this Friday - July 19th.

Unboxing Work Wear and Weekend Style

I've been noticing lately that my work wardrobe needs a re-fresh, and was super excited when Fashom sent me a box full of goodies to review. I loved how all the pieces were versatile enough to wear to the office or for weekend fun.

Easy and affordable is the name of my game. Easy because you sign up online, and a personal stylist will round up pieces to choose from. Here comes the best part - YOU get to choose what's sent to you! I've signed up for clothing boxes before where it's a total surprise what will be shipped to you. Sometimes it's a nice surprise, and sometimes... not so much. Spoiler alert - I loved and kept all 5 pieces!

Item 1: Naked Zebra Maxi Wrap Skirt

How gorgeous is this skirt? It's perfect for the office during the week or a patio brunch on the weekends. Pass the mimosas please!

Item 2: Gilli Cargo Jumpsuit

Another fabulous and versatile piece! It has enough shoulder coverage to wear to work, yet it still works for a night out or grabbing drinks on the weekend.

Item 3: Naked Zebra Overlap Tank Top

This beautiful tank layers well under a blazer for the work week or with your favorite pair of shorts for a weekend casual look. My favorite pieces can be dressed up or down because who doesn't want to get the most out of everything in their closet?

Item 4: Just Black Long Frayed Hem Skirt

Item 5: Desfios Shimmer Tank Top

I paired the shimmer tank top with the frayed hem skirt to go out and celebrate a friend's birthday last weekend. It was the perfect combo for catching up with some of my favorite girls over bubbles and local eats.

Mapped Out for Summer

Long weekends sure are good for the soul aren't they? That extra day or two truly makes a huge difference, and I sure packed in as much fun as I could while celebrating our beautiful country's independence. A bbq and pool party at our friend's house on the 4th, a day date with H to Wekiva Island on Friday, and I wrapped up the fun on Saturday celebrating a friend's birthday with the girls before relaxing and preparing for the week ahead on Sunday.

On Friday, for our day date we hit up our favorite local spot for some river floating and local brews. If you're visiting the Orlando area, Wekiva Island is a great half or full day away from the touristy areas. You can rent cabanas, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards and head down to Wekiva Springs as well.

I came prepared with my favorite floatie and new bathing suit from Atlas Drifts. Everyone knows my love for travel and outdoor fun, and it was SO hard to choose from all the fun locations. It came down to Block Island (a favorite summer spot while growing up in New England) and the Florida Keys. I ultimately went with the Florida Keys bathing suit to represent my life here in the sunshine state.

The fit was perfect for outdoor activities such as paddle boarding and floating (i.e. no gapping and full coverage), and I loved the map of the Florida Keys which represents my love of Florida living. Aside from bathing suits, they also carry beach towels, tote bags, hoodies, and t-shirts for both men and women.

Mirrored Sunshine

I can't believe it's already time for one of my favorite holidays of the year - the 4th of July! Are you ready for all the pool party, grilling, and fireworks viewing fun? I say YES please! Bring on all the red, white, and blue and of course sparklers! With all the pool and beach time over the long weekend, a fun pair of cheap sunglasses and of course SPF are very necessary (also please don't forget to re-apply sunscreen and get your annual skin cancer screening at the dermatologist - I can't stress that enough).

Top {On sale for less than $21} | ShortsSandalsNecklace | Bag | Double Ring | Lipstick | Women's Sunglasses

Everyone knows that I love the summertime, I mean how can you not?! All the extra hours of sunlight, patio dining (and of course patio drinks!), boat days, trips to the beach, lounging around the pool, and the fashion! Unpopular opinion here - summer fashion is WAY better than fall fashion. I've always felt that fall fashion is just sweaters, jeans, boots, and scarves - wash, rinse, repeat. I just love the wide variety in the summer - shorts, skirts, sundresses, maxi dresses, rompers, jumpsuits, all the fun and flirty tanks, and finishing off each look with cheap prescription glasses for the air conditioned indoors or the great outdoors.

I'm still super scared of laser eye surgery even though I need to just get over it already so I can skip the precious step in getting ready each day of putting in my contact lenses. For now, I just need a new pair of women's prescription glasses which will be nice and polished for the office. Have you had laser eye surgery? Is it really scary or totally worth it? Help tip me one way or the other pretty please! For this summer, I'll just stick to my trusty contact lenses and a cute pair of mirrored sunnies!
