Bubbles and Style

As a true summer girl and Floridian where temps aren't lowering anytime soon in the coming months, I've been looking for ways to incorporate fall style into my almost year round summer wardrobe, and I'm loving the pieces at Yoins. So many cute and trendy pieces that are also at fantastic price points, now I just want to scoop up all the things!

I like to add some fun sleeves that are still breathable and flowy in the heat. Cold shoulder and open back detailing are always a good idea when looking for fashion women tops online. They can be paired perfectly with shorts or skirts to stay cool. One of my all time favorite cozy chic looks is a longer sleeved slouchy top paired with shorts and a good pair of wedges.

I also try to incorporate darker colors to summery pieces I was excited to find various ladies fashion blouses online. Stripes are one of my favorite prints, so I try to mix in darker colors as well as some darker florals for fall. I love that the look is still fresh with some darker components, but still weather appropriate.

What are some fun ways you like to transition into the next season while still dressing appropriately for the current weather? Let me know how you'd style some of these tops for fall.

Knock on Wood

I love shopping my closet, and re-discovering pieces that I forgot I had. I recently fell back in love with this top that I scooped up at F21 a while back (I was wearing it on our honeymoon over 7 years ago if that helps show how old it is), and am having fun breathing new life into it. The wooden detailing on the neckline is my favorite part, and will be a timeless piece in my closet for years to come.

Crops and Stripes

I've never been a midriff baring kind of girl, but have been super intrigued to dip my toe into the crop top pool by pairing them with a high-waisted skirt or pair of shorts. I loved that this top was a pop of color to one of my favorite skirts while also keeping me cool in the summer heat.

Thoughts on a Monday

Is that even a thing? I know there's Thoughts on Tuesday, but we're going to make it a thing today. It's been a while since I've done a good catch up post.

I lucked out with another fabulous Kat Von D voxbox, this time it was to test out the new Saint and Sinner perfumes. I love the light and airy floral and vanilla notes of the Saint, and when I'm feeling more spicy I will reach for the Sinner scent.

How darling is this elephant clutch? I won it at my friend's baby shower last week and it's hands down the best gift I've ever won from those shower games.

How is my baby 9 months already!? Time is absolutely flying, and I have to keep reminding myself she's not my itty bitty baby anymore. Plans have been in motion the past few weeks for her 1st birthday party - craziness! The theme and the date have been narrowed down, and the custom cake has been ordered.

The news of Chester Bennington's suicide rocked me more than I expected. Maybe it's because I've loved Linkin Park since they hit the scene, maybe because I remember rockin' out to them via Napster downloads, maybe because we got to see him showcase his amazing talent live on stage, or maybe it's because the wounds are still unbelievably raw of losing my cousin. This is not a subject to be taken lightly, and I can't stress enough that no matter how hard things are they will always get better and there is so much and so many to live for.

My college self was a tad too excited for the limited release of Zima. I also had a strong love for Smirnoff Ice back in the day, but we all know Zima was the original. My fabulous neighbors brought them over a few weeks ago, and we've been enjoying them here and there with sweet sweet nostalgia.

I may live in Florida, but I definitely spend the majority of my time in the pool during the summer months. Life is just better in the water, and it's so relaxing and good for the soul after the hustle and bustle of the work week.

Speaking of good for the soul ~ $3 mimosas all day at a local sports bar and no dress code at work. Casual Fridays equal shorts!

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

A cozy tee paired with shorts is my go-to pretty much year round, and I can't resist prints like this pretty elephant. A fun change from my usual graphic tee! Paired together with my favorite rose gold superstars, and I'm a happy camper.

Double the Fun Weekending

There is seriously nothing better than a summer weekend - time spent outdoors, drinks in the pool, grilling, and all the fun clothes! But summertime celebrations make me even happier. This weekend, the girls, Emily, and I showered our dear friend and her twin girls who will be making their presence in early fall.

The theme was a tea party complete with a tea and mom-mosa bar. Two of my favs! The beautiful momma to be was glowing, and surrounded by loved ones that traveled from the Caribbean, Canada, and other parts of the U.S. to throw her the perfect shower - super special day!

I spent the rest of the weekend floating in the pool, and making my first pot ever of homemade turkey chili and cornbread. Ready for a fresh start this week after a nasty bug making it's way through the house last week. Ain't nobody got time for that!

Scallops and Studs

It may be summer (imagine that being sang in my best Olaf voice), but I've been majoring crushing on black lately with fun pops of color like my favorite clutch. Which is why it's no surprise that I fell in love with this scalloped dress that can go from the office to cocktails.

The Black Album

I'm still on a musical high from the Metallica concert a few days ago, which was definitely a bucket list show for us. I wanted to represent their "black album" with this outfit, and I loved how the top was edgy yet still feminine.

I added a little pop of color with my sunnies and favorite MK jellies, and was ready to rock out in the Florida heat. Even James Hetfield said to all of us in the crowd, "Man, Florida you sure know how to turn the heat on!"
