Thoughts on a Monday

Is that even a thing? I know there's Thoughts on Tuesday, but we're going to make it a thing today. It's been a while since I've done a good catch up post.

I lucked out with another fabulous Kat Von D voxbox, this time it was to test out the new Saint and Sinner perfumes. I love the light and airy floral and vanilla notes of the Saint, and when I'm feeling more spicy I will reach for the Sinner scent.

How darling is this elephant clutch? I won it at my friend's baby shower last week and it's hands down the best gift I've ever won from those shower games.

How is my baby 9 months already!? Time is absolutely flying, and I have to keep reminding myself she's not my itty bitty baby anymore. Plans have been in motion the past few weeks for her 1st birthday party - craziness! The theme and the date have been narrowed down, and the custom cake has been ordered.

The news of Chester Bennington's suicide rocked me more than I expected. Maybe it's because I've loved Linkin Park since they hit the scene, maybe because I remember rockin' out to them via Napster downloads, maybe because we got to see him showcase his amazing talent live on stage, or maybe it's because the wounds are still unbelievably raw of losing my cousin. This is not a subject to be taken lightly, and I can't stress enough that no matter how hard things are they will always get better and there is so much and so many to live for.

My college self was a tad too excited for the limited release of Zima. I also had a strong love for Smirnoff Ice back in the day, but we all know Zima was the original. My fabulous neighbors brought them over a few weeks ago, and we've been enjoying them here and there with sweet sweet nostalgia.

I may live in Florida, but I definitely spend the majority of my time in the pool during the summer months. Life is just better in the water, and it's so relaxing and good for the soul after the hustle and bustle of the work week.

Speaking of good for the soul ~ $3 mimosas all day at a local sports bar and no dress code at work. Casual Fridays equal shorts!

Summer Favorites

Happy Friday! I couldn't be more excited that summer is officially here, and I'll most likely be found in the pool or at the beach for the foreseeable future every weekend.

1. Since I live outside this time of year, practicing safe sun is super important. I've been applying Supergoop's new whipped sunscreen mousse while floating around the pool. It's been a nice change from the sprays which I felt wound up more in the air than on my skin.

Sunscreen - Supergoop!

2.  I live in or by the water for at least half the year here in the sunshine state, so a good pair of sandals that can also get wet are key. Not only are my new SOAK sandals pretty in shimmering gold, but they are comfortable, eco friendly, water proof, and recyclable. This green fashionista approves!

My readers will enjoy a 15% off discount when purchasing a pair of these waterproof sandals with code GREEN15. Happy Shopping!

I'm excited to be giving away a free pair of the SOAK sandals. They come in a variety of fun colors and combinations, and are perfect for a trip to the pool, beach, or lake house.

3.
I finally scooped up these Valentino dupes that I've been swooning over all summer. They're not only back in stock, but are on a major sale and are now less than $27! Be prepared to see these studded beauties a lot in upcoming outfit posts.

4. I was excited to be chosen for Influenster's Revitalift challenge. I'm really starting to notice wrinkles and fine lines around my eyes and mouth especially when smiling, so I'm always in the market to try something new that'll help reduce the aging process. They sent me a complimentary jar of L'Oreal Revitalift, and I've been using it as my daily moisturizer the past few days. It smells great, and my skin is brighter each morning. I'll definitely report back with my thoughts after using it for a few more weeks as well as before and after pictures.

5. It takes me forever to get through books these days, but I finally finished The American Heiress which promised to help with my Downton Abbey withdrawals. It started off a little slow for me, but I'm so glad I gave it a second chance because then it was a page turner. It was wrapped up rather quickly in the end, but now I'm just hoping it'll be made into a movie. The last thing Hollywood needs is another remake or sequel.

Weekending Glow

I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter weekend with family and friends. The long weekend was much needed, and I enjoyed every second with my little family, a happy hour with Pamela and the boys at our favorite local spot, and Easter dinner with friends.

Spring and summer is hands down my favorite time a year, I just love the longer days and outdoor living. And that sun-kissed glow? Yes please! I was excited to try out the new Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Highlighter which is nice and lightweight, and blends well either into your foundation or directly onto your skin for that summer glow. And the best part is that it's lightly scented with coconuts which transports you right to a tropical beach.

Weekending + Giveaway

Hello there Monday, you sure popped up again fast! Another fabulous weekend in the books, the perfect combo of relaxation and fun gone too quickly.

I'm loving my latest voxbox from Influenster which included two of the new highliners from the Marc Jacobs Beauty collection. I received #41 (Earth)quake and #43 (Brown)ie which are a dark brown and a medium brown respectively. The collection has a range of colors from bold and fun to subtle and neutral. The looks you can create with these crayons are endless! They're great for defining the eye, or smudging to create a more dramatic look for a night out. I love how pigmented they are, and how they'll last up to 12 hours which will take you from day to night.

Scenes from the weekend:

I had to try out the edible cookie dough that Katie posted about last week, and man alive it's dangerous! I had to restrain myself from eating the whole jar over the weekend. I found it at Target, and they also had birthday cake and peanut butter flavors. You're welcome....

Saturday night, we headed to downtown Orlando for the first time in what felt like forever since a friend's brother was in town and wanted to check out Wall Street. The area is closed off from traffic, and once you're admitted you have access to several bars with live music and drink specials, and there are bars in the middle under the stars as well. It tends to be a younger crowd for us old peeps, but we had a great time.

A few weeks ago I mentioned that my mom was finally opening an Etsy shop to showcase all of her wonderful creations. Just to name a few items she's handmade for me over the years ~ me and my cousin's flower girl dresses in our aunt's wedding, my junior prom dress, my wedding veil, Serena's bedding including the crib blanket, sheets, and dust ruffle, the tutu and headband she wore going home from the hospital, a star baby bunting, hand knitted baby hat, booties, and jacket, and the prettiest infinity scarves. She also hand-makes custom tuffet stools which is a labor of love. I'm so excited that she's finally showcasing her talent, and wanted to introduce you all to her newly opened Etsy shop Nana Faith Creations.

There's a Chill in the Air

Happy Friday! All of the excitement of the holiday season may be over, but I'm still having fun trying out Maybelline's new Big Shot Mascara and Master Precise Curvy Liquid Liner.

The weather is supposed to cool off this weekend, so I'm excited to break out my new scarf that H got for me from Nordstrom. I love the neutral colors, and it's super soft!

Speaking of the cooler weather, I'll be living in this Jack by BB Dakota moto jacket to stay warm. I'm obsessed with the cognac color and how cozy it is. I also love how it goes great with jeans and my winter whites.

I'm also looking forward to breaking open my first bottle of Skinny Girl since being pregnant. I usually enjoy the Skinny Girl cocktails by the pool all summer, but this past year I had to stick to La Croix sparkling waters which are also delish by the way! The Sparkling Margarita is my favorite since it combines my two favorites together - a low cal margarita and bubbles.

I received some new Essie colors in my stocking that I can't wait to try out. I'm leaning towards painting my nail with Ready to Boa from their winter collection. Such a fun color for the next week!

Fridays call for Cocktails and Confetti

Happy Friday! Baby girl has been home with us for the past week and a half, but this week was the first one where H was back at work and she's been my little buddy all day. Looking forward to some long awaited champs and happy hour on the patio this evening, and some fun visitors over the weekend to meet lil' miss.

It's that time of year that we all look forward to - the Sephora VIB sale. I can't wait to stock up on my holy grail products, and pick up items I've been eyeing for a while but couldn't seem to pull the trigger on and save 20% off the whole order. Save the date to save! Another amazing sale is going on over at Kate Spade, save an additional 30% off sale items with offer code CHEERS. Happy Shopping ~ sale ends on Sunday, November 6th.

I'm excited to be back on the Rocksbox train, and am loving my first box of goodies. More goodies being enjoyed came courtesy of Influenster in the Flawless voxbox. This box was packed full of fun and healthy snacks, beauty products, and relaxing bath salts.

This polish (Sinful Colors Miss Klaws) is the perfect fall red, and I'm currently rocking it for this weekend. It'll also be showcased in my first post-bump outfit blog post coming next week.

Trying out new mascaras is a fun weakness of mine, and this tube of So Lashy by Cover Girl did not disappoint. Definitely in the rotation of my eye make up drawer!

This tea was not only amazing for you, but also delish! Best enjoyed during a relaxing bath with Dr Teal's Pure Epsom Salts. A nice bath after a long day is the best medicine.

Yesterday, I received the sweetest surprise in the mail from the fabulous Andrea. Lil' Miss can't wait to rock that adorable onesie while mommy enjoys a yummy holiday latte. And those owl stickers are too stinkin' adorable!
