My Hair Product Must Haves

It's amazing how many products it takes to do one's hair, and I don't even do anything fancy with mine. I'm pretty simple... it's usually blow dried straight, scrunched into beachy waves, or pulled back in a bun or ponytail. Below are my favorite products to keep my locks healthy and shiny.

Hair Must Haves

1. Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray - I have such fine hair, and this little spray does wonders on thickening my hair. I just spray it on damp hair before blow drying.

2. Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray - On days where I don't feel like have time to blow dry my hair, this spray gives me a simple fix. I just spray and scrunch my damp hair and I'm left with beachy waves after my hair air dries. You can find my review from last summer here.

3. Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Hairspray - I pick this up at Target, and I love that it keeps my hair in place (also helps de-frizz) when pulled back without feeling hard and crispy. I'm able to still run my fingers through my hair when I take my hair down.

4. Pretty Hair Ties - In women's gym bags everywhere.

5. DryBar Triple Sec Dry Shampoo - This has been the best smelling/working dry shampoo I've tried out, but the price tag is a little steep. Considering I don't use it regularly, it'll last me a while.

6. Suave Keratin Shampoo - Smells great and helps my hair to look smoother and shinier after blowing it out.

7. Bed Head Curlipops Curling Wand - perfect for curling my hair without the dreaded curling iron clamp mark.

8. Sephora Pop-Up Travel Brush - perfect for carrying in my purse for touch ups throughout the day to keep my hair looking fresh.

9. HanaAir Blow Dryer - I still can't believe I won this fabulous blow dryer in Chelsea's giveaway. My hair has never been softer and healthier looking.

10. Sephora Detangling Comb - perfect for combing out wet hair after showering without getting knotted up.

11. DryBar Lemon Drop Daily Detangler - this brush has helped my hair experience less breakage which in turn helps it look healthier. Couldn't be happier with it!

12. DryBar Medium Round Brush - great for at-home blow outs.

Discovering Becca at Sephora

I've been on the hunt for a good primer that'll actually stay put throughout the day, and the always flawless Deborah recommended Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. However, I just recently purchased Benefit's Agent Zero Shine and am going to wait until I finish that before trying something new. But this opened up a door for me to all the fabulous Becca products, and I knew I wanted to start trying them out.

*Can't wait to experiment with this beautiful pressed powder*

This dry shampoo blows Suave and Tresemme out of the water! It smells amazing all day, and gives my hair great lift when it needs it the most.

*Such a pretty scent, definitely packing this in my carry on for Chicago*

Have you ever tried any of the Becca products? If so, which one is your favorite?

Dry Shampoo Review

I have very fine hair and have to wash it every day or it gets even more limp and oily. I usually shower and
wash my hair after work after my workout, but yesterday was the day I had been waiting for.. for several years. It was the release of the final Harry Potter movie. It was raining when I got home which means it was humid outside and I was feeling extra oily and icky, but had no time to wash my hair before going to the movies with H. After trying out the dry shampoo from Tresemme a few months ago I wasn't impressed, but I kept hearing great things about Suave's dry shampoo and decided to buy it. I hadn't used it until last night and the results are... I loved it! It worked a lot better than Tresemme's and it also smells amazing! It has a very fruity smell that H noticed and said, "OOooh what are you wearing?" I laughed and said, "Nothing, it's my dry shampoo". The Tresemme's dry shampoo was a "quick fix" while I felt this dry shampoo did what it was supposed to do and replaced washing my hair to go out for the evening. Perfection!

My hair instantly felt a lot cleaner and got the body back that was there when I had blow dried it the evening before and again.. it smelled great! As for the movie.... INCREDIBLE! I blubbered like a baby and was super emotional the entire time. So sad to see it end, but so amazing at the same time. The world has spent the past 10 years reading the books and watching the movies, and it all ended this weekend.
The rest of this week was quite eventful. I've been telling people that I can't imagine how anyone can plan a wedding and buy a house at the same time. My H and I have been going through so much stress with our new house being built. It's like deja vu from this time last year when we were getting down to the last few months before the wedding. Oy the stress! Hats off to those of you who balanced both at the same time. But it's all worth it, and we stopped by our dirt lot this weekend and took pictures of our lot and our sold sign. Very exciting!

It's amazing to think that empty lot will have our home on it all ready for us in the next few months. We couldn't be happier and are eagerly awaiting to watch the progress and move in.

Moving down here has opened up so many doors for us from enjoying the outdoors all year round to buying our first home that will be our forever home to us both finally working at jobs that we are both very happy at. My office had it's kick off this week and after being in meetings all day, we were treated to going to see the Magic play. What a great evening, we were in one of the luxury suites and the Magic won by a lot!

Saturday night, my H and I stayed in and got a bottle of my favorite.. Skinny Girl Margarita and had a Netflix night. It's so good and I love how it's so much better for you then regular margaritas. It's made with agave instead of sour mix so it has far less calories and isn't as indigestion inducing. All we were missing was some freshly made guacamole!

This morning before my H and I went out for the day I decided to try out my new dry shampoo. I keep reading about it and wanted to try it out for myself. So I didn't wash my hair and sprayed it with the dry shampoo, waited 2 minutes and then brushed it through and styled as usual. It worked great, I instantly noticed that my hair looked fresh and smelled great too. But by the time we got back home later that afternoon I was more than ready to wash my hair. My official review on it is that it's a great quick fix, but it's not something I can use as a substitution all day in lieu of washing my hair. I have very fine hair, so I can't get away with it as easily as girls with thicker hair that doesn't get oily as easily.

I also started using Tresemme's volumizing mousse before I blow dry my hair and I've noticed a difference in how much body I have. Again just like with the dry shampoo it's great in the beginning, but it doesn't last all day. Any suggestions on a great volumizing mousse or dry shampoo I could try and maybe have better luck with?

Now on to my last beauty experiment. I finally got a Clarisonic after being overly frustrated with my recent breakouts (never really dealt with bad skin but now in my mid-late 20's it's been horrible). I first tried Proactiv and it worked great in the beginning, but still didn't clear me up completely, but after a month or so it started to get really bad again. So I decided to purchase a Clarisonic and cross my fingers that I wouldn't experience the "Clarisonic purge". Well after the first few washes, my face felt amazing. So soft and it was much fresher looking. About a week into it, I started to notice the purge and that I was breaking out pretty bad. It's been about another week and a half and I'm definitely still experiencing a purge, but it seems to be easing up thankfully. I'll post updates on how my skin is doing and hopefully it'll continue to clear up as the Clarisonic pulls out all the "crap" that's been underneath my skin that regular facial cleansing wasn't taking care of on it's own.
I've been using my Clarisonic with Clean & Clear Advantage face wash, but I'd also like to try Philosophy's Purity.

Now I'm going to cap off the weekend with H and watch the NBA All Star Game. Go East!
