I still can't get enough of dark florals, and swooned when I first saw this romper for only $21. It's perfect for the summer heat and can be dressed up with some statement jewelry and wedges or dressed down with some sandals and minimal accessories. Speaking of summer, it's in full effect here in the sunshine state. I have been living in the pool, and I like to call this hair-do "pool chic" aka I pulled back my wet chlorinated mane into a bun because seasonal laziness. Voila!
Believe it or not I'm wearing a bra, you just have to be a ninja about how you tie the material in the back. And if you don't need the extra support, the straps combined with the tie back do provide support. I just wanted the extra layer since the front is white.
It's the mooooooost wonderful time of the year! I've always been a summer girl through and through, hence the move from CT to FL without ever looking back. I'm super excited for all the warm weather fun including beach days, pool time, and summer parties.
H and I snuck off to the beach to enjoy a day date, and I have a feeling my Beach Please floppy hat will be on repeat for the next several months.
We also had family in town which coincided with H's birthday, and the cousins got lots of play time at the splash pad, the park, and swimming.
Then it was time to celebrate our friend's beautiful brand new pool that was ready just in time to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend. Grill food, swimming, and good times with good friends.
This time of year, I'm living in breezy tops and shorts or flowy sundresses. Florida has already turned up the heat, so I officially have retired my jeans until mid-late fall. I loved how airy thistie knot shirt is, and that I can style it for weekend fun with a pair of shorts or a pair of dress pants for the office. And at only $20 (plus there's an extra 15% off coupon available right now), I need to scoop up another color as well. When I can wear an item both at work and on the weekends, I'm sold.
I'm sad to be wrapping up my cruise recaps, but let's be honest it's been almost a month since we got back and it's time. I recapped the ship hereand our first two ports of call in Cozumel, Mexico and the Cayman Islands here. Last, but most certainly not least is Falmouth, Jamaica and Castaway Cay in the Bahamas.
After two busy days in a row in Cozumel and in Grand Cayman, we were looking forward to a relaxing day in the port area while in Falmouth, Jamaica. We enjoyed room service breakfast (always free on a cruise) on the balcony where I could see the beautiful Margaritaville pool and couldn't wait to get down there and claim a lounger for the day.
We did some exploring and shopping before setting up camp for the day at Margaritaville. Lil' miss danced her way through the village to some local music, helped pick out some souvenirs, and was super excited to get to the pool once we settled in and ordered some lunch.
After a relaxing day at sea, we arrived in Castaway Cay which is Disney's private island in the Bahamas. We got off the ship nice and early so that my friend and I could run the Castaway Cay 5k. She threw the idea out there a few months ago, and I laughed it off thinking there was no way I would do a 5k while on vacation. I decided to look into it a few weeks later, saw that it was 100% free (yes please!) and I would get a coveted Run Disney medal at the end. That combined with the thought of doing a 5k in the Bahamas sold me.

After having been to Norwegian Cruise Line's private island (Great Stirrup Cay) a few years ago, I figured Castaway Cay would be similar. Boy was I WRONG! I mean - it's Disney. Of course it was amazing down to every little detail. The beach didn't feel crowded, and it was easy for all 4 adults to get a lounger under an umbrella. Each lounger also came with a beach chair in front of it to sit in while the kiddos played in the sand.
There was SO much to do on the island, several souvenir shops, bars, a splash pad, water slides, yoga on the beach, a kid's club, and even an adult's only beach. The 5k was on the bike trail (yes, you can even rent bikes and explore the island), and the BBQ lunch was amazing. I'd book another Disney cruise just to go back to Castaway Cay.
