It's Ok Thursday

Happy Friday Eve! I actually have a bachelorette party to go to tonight.. and yes I'm aware it's a Thursday! The lovely bride to be is from the Caribbean, and a lot of her friends and family are flying in today so tonight was the best time to have the bachelorette. So, I'll be dressing up tonight in a hot lil' number and joining the ladies for the festivities this evening.

Time to link up with Neely and Amber for a mash up of It's Ok Thursday and Thankful Thursday. Hop on over and join in on the fun ;)

It's OK that...

~ I'm working all day and going to a bachelorette tonight. I'm excited for it, who cares if it's a Thursday!

~ I won't be able to get to the gym today. I promise I'm not one of those girls who thinks it's the end of the world, but I just know I won't have the time to get back there for several days either :-P

~ It'll have been almost 6 months since I last got my hair done when I go to my hair appointment on Saturday.

~ That I only booked said hair appointment because I found an awesome groupon for it.

It's ok to be thankful for...

~ My wonderful H and adorable bulldog

~ The amazing group of people we have met down here in FL

~ Our lives that we've built down here. Thankful doesn't even begin to describe how we feel about moving down south from up north. The list of things that makes living better for us goes on and on.

~ Finally hitting 100 followers! I'm so happy for my little blog :)

What's ok in your life today and what are you thankful for?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Definitely not complaining that it's already Wednesday! Bring on the weekend! Linkin' up with Jamie at This Kind of Love for What I'm Loving Wednesday.

~ I'm loving that I'm only 2 followers away from 100. After blogging for over a year I'm so happy that my little blog is starting to pick up some steam.

~ I'm loving that the summer Olympics are coming up soon. I love me some Olympics! I make H mad by wanting to watch it all and monopolizing the tv for 2 weeks.

~ I'm loving that Cami will be guest blogging for me next week! :)

~ I'm loving my recent finds on Pinterest:

~ I'm always loving my wonderful H :)

What are you loving today?

Who wants a minnie-cure?

Love OPI's new slogan for their Minnie Mouse collection of nail polishes and the polishes themselves of course.

I'm looking forward to trying out:

Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It

The Color of Minnie

If You Moust You Moust

There's even a mini-set that I'll have to get my hands on :)

What colors are you going to be on the hunt for?

I got mail!

First off, I'd like to express how excited I am that I'm only 2 followers away from 100, triple digits baby! Once I hit 100 there will be another giveaway, and I already have an idea of what it'll be. I love this little blog and all my wonderful readers.

I also love getting packages in the mail, and I got a double dose the other day :)

My Sephora and my VS order both came in at the same time!

I used my 10% off to restock my Bumble & Bumble Hair Thickening Spray and finally decided to try out the NARS duo that has not just one raved about product but TWO!

I chose the bronzer in Laguna and the blush in Orgasm. I've heard only amazing reviews about both products and am super excited to use my new set.

I ordered a new bathing suit from the VS Semi Annual Sale. I chose the Rhinestone Heart Bandeau by their Beach Sexy collection. I also picked out 2 bottoms in 2 different colors to mix it up.

I got the Cross Front Dress for my friend's bachelorette coming up later this week. I will definitely have to get those unsitely wrinkles out beforehand though of course :-P

My gift for the Bachelorette is all wrapped up and ready to go as well. I love how even their boxes and bags are purrty.

I also got a new bra out of the semi-annual sale bin, my free panty with the gift cards they sent out, and some 5 for $26 lacy panty thongy things that I figured no one wants to see haha. I'm sure you all thank me :-P

Have you had any good shopping hauls lately?

What's on the menu?

I've noticed lately I've been in a food rut and have been cooking a lot of the same dinners over and over again. One of my staples is my homemade meat sauce that I make every week since it's H's favorite and it gives us two dinners and a lunch for him to take into work. I also tend to make Shepards Pie, Baked Mac n' Cheese, Cajun Chicken Pasta, and Hamburger Helper A LOT! So, I decided this week to mix it up a little and break the monotony.

So, I took out my recipe book and went on to Pinterest and started making a grocery list. If you have been living under a rock and still haven't discovered Pinterest you are missing out for sure! So get on over there and see what all the fuss is about! I'm just super upset that site wasn't around when I was planning my wedding 2 years ago.

The first thing I took from Pinterest was a dip recipe that I decided to make for last night. Friends of ours (who are getting married next weekend whoo hoo!) had some people over last night for Game 7 of the Celtics and the Heat and then the boxing fight afterwards. I made the Skinny Poolside dip and it was amazingness!

Skinny Pool-side Dip

~ 2 packages of fat free cream cheese (softened)
~ 1 can of corn
~ 1 red pepper, chopped
~ 2 jalapenos, chopped and unseeded
~ 1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch dip seasoning

Mix it all together and serve with crackers

It was de-li-cious! And I didn't feel guilty at all about going to town on it since all it is, is fat free cream cheese and veggies.

I also tried Michelob Ultra's new Light Cider for the first time and they are also delicious but not as guilt free as the dip, just less guilty than a regular hard cider. They're very sweet, so it's hard to drink more than 2 at a time, but they are definitely yummy!

Now.. getting back to the title of this post and my menu for the week that I wanted to get more creative with.

Saturday: Buffalo chicken wraps with grilled chicken, Franks Red Hot, lettuce, tomato, and light ranch dressing. I wanted to add crumbled bleu cheese, but H turned his nose up at it :-P

Sunday: I made my weekly pot of sauce and garlic bread as it's H's favorite and it will be the gift that keeps on giving later in the week. My sauce recipe can be found here.

Monday: BLT's and pasta salad. I picked up low sodium bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and light chipotle mayo.

Tuesday: Cheeseburgers on the grill and corn on the cob

Wednesday: Leftover sauce and garlic bread

Thursday: Egg sandwiches

Friday: French Onion Soup recipe can be found here.

I'm hungry just thinking about all this! :)

Sunday Social

Are you excited? I know I am! It's time to link up with Neely for Sunday Social! Hop on over and join all the lovely ladies in this fun new link up :)

How did you come up with your blog name?
~ I wanted my blog to capture two of my biggest passions: being green/environmentally conscious and of course fashion! :)

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
~ The amazing bloggy friends you can meet. I've "met" some amazing girls from all over the country and some are international. I also love all the ideas I get from shopping to recipes to home decor, etc..

What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now cant live without?
~ The friendships, the support, and the advice. Whoops that's 3...

Facebook or Twitter? and why?
~ Facebook! Most of my friends and family are on FB, while only a few IRL friends are on Twitter. I only recently joined Twitter in order to stay connected to other bloggers. It's a great way to chat with other bloggers and say what's on my mind without being a FB constant status updater lol. But I still prefer FB since that's where I connect with F&F back home in CT and share most of my pictures.

You can follow me on twitter: @GreenFashonista
Yes.. I'm aware Fashionista is spelled incorrectly *sigh* but we can blame it on Twitter which puts a cap on how long your user name can be so I scratched the extra "i" in fashionista. I'm a stickler for grammar, so this probably bothers me more than anyone else haha.

If one celeb read your blog who would you want it to be?
~ Lauren Conrad <3 her! And still so proud of Anna at Fash Boulevard for accomplishing just that! So amazing! If you never have, definitely go check out her blog and her guest posts on Lauren Conrad's website.

What is something you want people to know about your blog?
~ I'm sarcastic! Sometimes sarcasm isn't always apparent especially when typed out on the inter-webs. So, I've tried to tone it down on my blog as to not be taken the wrong way :-P
I'm also very honest, and hope my little blog is a good read amongst many others. I blog about my shopping sprees, our travels, our ongoing house projects, and it's also just a hodge-podge of happenings and discoveries in my life.

Don't forget to link up. The lovely ladies hosting this new link up are giving away a $20 Starbucks gift card and you're automatically entered by linking up. Mmmmmm coffee!

It's Ok Thursday

We're finally almost there! Linkin' up with Neely and Amber for It's Ok Thursday.

It's OK That...

~ I snack too much throughout the day

~ I'm getting just a wee bit sick of all the rain we've been getting. I miss my sunny days!

~ Even though I'm sick of the rain, I'm glad it's saved us from running the sprinklers. Whoo hoo for a cheaper water bill this month!

~ I still cover my eyes when the music gets intense during scary movies

~ I really need to get my hair done, but I'm afraid to find a new stylist in FL. I've been going to the same one in CT for over 10 years. I don't want to "cheat" on her!

~ I've been too lazy to repaint my nails since I removed last week's polish

~ I'm pretty upset I didn't get to have any butterbeer when I was at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter last week *sigh*

~ Even after my recent shopping, I still feel like I haven't gotten enough stuff for our upcoming Jamaica trip. Girl loves to shop!

~ I'm pretty sure the way I eat/snack totally cancels out all the hard work I put in at the gym :-P

What's OK in your life today?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I was super spoiled last week with having Monday off and then having a work event at Universal on Friday. Now this week seems to be dragging. I feel like I should have been linking up with Jamie at This Kind of Love for What I'm Loving Wednesday days ago... but here we are and it's only hump day! Hop on over to Jamie's blog and join in on the fun :)

~ I'm loving that the month of June is almost booked solid! Bring on the wedding festivities, vacation, and our anniversary! Let's do this!

~ I'm loving that I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the NARS duo with Laguna and Orgasm in one compact. I've been wanting to try both the blush and the bronzer forever, and this duo is perfect for me to try both! Product review coming soon.

~ I'm loving this bathing suit I ordered from the VS Semi Annual Sale

*Hot bod sold separately*

They need this disclaimer on their website, because every time I order something I always wonder why it looks nothing like it did on the models when I wear it lol :-P

~ I'm always loving my wonderful H!

What are you loving today?

Is it Sunday Night Already?

Yeesh... where did the weekend go?! I seriously think time speeds up as soon as Friday night hits! Either that or the phrase really is true that time flies when you're having fun :)

Friday was eventful, as my office had a team building event at Islands of Adventure (at Universal). We knew beforehand that the weather probably wouldn't cooperate, but when I woke up that morning it was only a little cloudy, so I decided to wear my white shorts instead of the capris or t-shirt dress I had picked out the night before. I also did my hair... so before I even left the house I made 2 BIG mistakes :-P

This is how I looked before leaving the house:

Top and shorts are from Old Navy and wristlet is Coach

By about 12:00 noon... this is how I looked:

On my way to the park it started to rain, and it never stopped! I decided it was more fun to give in to mother nature than to try and fight back. We all got soaked and it was so much fun! We had to do a scavenger hunt around the park, and even though we all got soaked we had a great time.

Rainy day at Hogwarts

Saturday it was bridal shower time! It was my first FL bridal shower and it was a great time.

I wore the same dress I wore to my rehearsal dinner two years ago (still can't believe it's been almost 2 years!)

Beautiful cake

Practicing cutting the cake for the wedding day

Today, H and I worked on the yard. We went over to Home Depot and picked up some bushes for the back yard, and I picked up some flowers to plant in the front. Neither of us realized it may not be a good idea since it was in the 90's and sunny. We both got just a tad bit hot.. lol but the yard looks fantastic!
