It was like slow motion once I saw their car and slammed on my breaks, but I knew we were going to collide. My air bag deployed which has never happened before and I was in such a state of shock, that I just started balling my eyes out... and I couldn't stop! I crawled out of the car to see the damage and because the smoke from the air bag being deployed was awful... and I was just crying uncontrollably. I was in a state of disbelief that we were all ok, but that it all happened in the first place :(
My chest was hurting so bad from the airbag hitting me, and my neck and back are very sore, but I know I'm going to be ok and that's the important thing. Being sore with a totaled car is MUCH more valuable to me than any serious injuries.
I was hoping it wouldn't be too bad but alas.. my cute little car is totaled. I only had it for 15 months and I loved that little car! I feel like it was just yesterday that we picked up my new car and I posted about it here. *tear*
I still get teary eyed thinking about the whole thing, but am eternally thankful that everyone involved is ok. As the firefighter at the scene said, "Cars are replaceable, people are not". Soooo very true!
I was still running high on adrenaline, and decided to go into work, which H thought was craziness. After a little while my back was killing me sitting at my desk. So, I took today off to rest and hopefully I'll be more myself by tomorrow.
Ugh, I am so sorry!! That sounds so scary! I have only been in an accident twice and both times it was the other drivers fault and I was rear ended both times haha. But I cried like a baby. There is just something about being hit and the shock of it that is so dramatic! I hope you are recovering okay!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're ok!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, sweet girl! So, so, so glad you're okay though!! Xo
ReplyDeleteOh no that's horrible!! Poor car, thank god you and the other drivers are ok though! I was in a fender bender the day before Thanksgiving and I felt the exact same way, state of shock and all I wanted to do was cry my eyes out. Luckily my car was still semi-driveable and I can get it fixed, but it could have been a lot worse. Hope your neck and back feel better!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are alright Kate! I was thinking about you since I saw the pic on instagram! Car accidents are so scary, I can only imagine! Hope you had some wine tonight to relax! <3 xoxo
ReplyDeleteKate! EEEEEK! How scary and tramatic! I would be bawling too. I'm so glad you (and others involved) are okay. On the bright side, hopefully her insurance will help pay/cover the cost for you to get a new car!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are ok! And the fireman is right, people are not replaceable!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear what happened. Glad to hear you are ok! Make sure you go get it check out by a doctor. My friend just got into an accident and originally she thought she was fine but after a few days the pain started, she ended up needing 2 months of PT.
