I Won!

I Won!

The other day the fabulous Nikki tweeted me and let me know I won her Target giftcard giveaway. If you don't already know.. Target is my happy place.

She's such a sweety and even included a little note for me.

Nikki was doing a guest post on Jenna's blog and was giving away a Target giftcard. I of course entered considering I go there at least once a week and was so excited when she told me I won :)

I'm pretty sure I'm going to use it to buy these bad boys:

I've been eyeing these for a while and purple has been my obsession lately

aaaaand these are on clearance:

Every Christmas I eye these sparkly gold beauties. Steve Madden had a more expensive pair out a few years ago, and Target's knock off was just as pretty for MUCH cheaper. I think it's time I finally pick these up considering they're on clearance for only $10.98! Yes you read that right!

Thanks again Nikki and Jenna! :)

Weekend in Pictures

Weekend in Pictures

All good things must come to an end such as this past weekend *pouty face*.

We went on an Olympic themed pub crawl during the opening ceremony, had a neighborhood pool party, and worked on the house.

Oooh and I can't forget about Roxy's birthday! My "little" girl turned 5 this past week.

I went to the "barkery" to pick up a doggy cake. Look at all the doggy cookies! Too cute!

My girl's birthday cake made out of shortbread and yogurt.

I finally tried Bud Light Lime-A-Rita and I was enjoying it until I looked up the nutrition info online. Why do I do that to myself?! Welp... one of those little 8 oz. cans (not 12 oz. like most beers or malt beverages) clock in at a whopping 220 calories. Yipes!

I think I'll stick with my Skinny Girl beverages!

I picked up a bottle of Skinny Girl White Peach Margarita and a bottle of Skinny Girl Pina Colada. The Pina Colada is DELISH, but I haven't tried the White Peach Margarita yet. Reviews to come!

Then it was time for the Olympic themed bar crawl.

H and I combined were red, white, and blue :)

So much fun! But, I came home and re-watched the opening ceremony on the DVR since I wasn't able to hear a lot of what was going on and I'm obsessed with the Olympics!

We also had a neighborhood BBQ/pool party which was a lot of fun. We live in a new build development, so everyone is new. We've been here a little over a year, but the development is finally all done with selling houses. So, we have a few new households of new neighbors and it was nice to meet a lot of them.

I was going to make my Skinny Poolside Dip recipe found here. But, as I was on my way to the store, my H texted me and told me that some of our neighbors had put in a request for my buffalo chicken dip (recipe found here)
So, we went to the party armed with some Skinny Girl Pina Colada and Buffalo Dip.. YUM!

So much good food!

Shenanigans

Perfect way to say welcome to the neighborhood! :)

We also went out and finally got a ceiling fan for our master bedroom.

It helps our room look more complete

We had a great weekend, but I had a horrible night's sleep last night and ended up having to call out of work today. I hate calling out, but if I have plenty of PTO time, my H always encourages me to use it when I need it. And man did I need it this morning. I barely got any sleep last night so it was much needed to get some extra sleep this morning. I slept til almost noon! Now, why couldn't I have just done that overnight? Sheesh...

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend, time to link up with Ashley and Neely for Sunday Social :)

What is your dream job?

~ This is a tough one because there are several jobs that would be a "dream job" to me. I went to school for Political Science and I would LOVE to be a lobbyist for a big firm.

Right now with the Olympics on, I'd LOOOOVE to be a sportscaster/interviewer a la Bob Costas.

I'd also love to be a buyer. Sitting front row at fashion shows, picking out pieces for the new line, ahhhh amazingness!

If you had just won the lottery and didn't need to work for money, what would you do with your time?

~ Oh in a perfect world... I'd get in a lot more gym time and attend more spin classes, etc.. It would also be nice to get my errands done when it's not crazy busy because it's rush hour or Saturday afternoon. I could get into my hair salon quicker because I wouldn't have to wait until the weekend. I'd also probably take after my mom when she was a stay at home mom and take classes like cooking/crafty classes and volunteer for causes close to my heart. Oh and if money wasn't an issue, you better believe I'd be traveling and globetrotting as much as I could since vacation time and money wouldn't be in the way. And you already know I'd be spending a lot of time shopping and "lunching" with other housewives.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

~ An astronaut, I always wanted to go to space camp.

What piece of advice would you give someone just starting out in your field?

~ The company isn't going to burn to the ground if you turn your cell phone off or take a vacation. This is true of any career. Please ladies don't ever become that person who stays so connected to their job via their smartphone once leaving the office or never really takes a vacation. Your body, well being, family, and friends will appreciate you for it! Work to live, don't live to work ;)

But.. when you're at work give it your all. I've seen a big difference in my output when I care about what I'm doing instead of clock watching. Find that perfect balance ladies.

What are your biggest pet peeves in life, blogging, and at work?

~ In life I would definitely have to say rudeness. It's uncalled for and if it's by accident, just apologize for it. It's not that hard.. my momma raised me to have a good heart :)

~ In blogging, I honestly don't have any pet peeves. I love this wonderful bloggy world! Thankfully, I haven't come across any drama or ridiculousness and I have the most wonderful readers!

~ At work.. oh dear where do I start? People who are inconsiderate and aren't aware of themselves or their surroundings i.e. not cleaning up after themselves, not realizing how loud/obnoxious they are when they're in a small area, cooking smelly food in the office kitchen, taking someone's food out of the microwave when they're not there, and my absolute biggest pet peeve are co-workers who are terrible at their job, cause drama, etc.. I've seen people get fired/let go for some of the most minuscule things, and then I've seen people get away with everything under the sun and no one can figure out why on earth they're still employed. Grinds...my...gears!

What are your biggest fears?

~ Death.. whether it be a loved one or myself. I can't wrap my head around how it's inevitable.

~ Never being good enough

Wow.. ending this on a depressing note :-P

Happy Sunday ladies! Head on over to Ashley or Neely's and join the fun!

Happy Olympics Day!

Happy Olympics Day!

I can't even begin to describe how flingin' flangin' excited I am that the Olympics start today!! The next 17 days will be filled with gymnastics, swimming, diving, track and field, cycling, rowing, and of course medal ceremonies! Whoo hoo!

Even in all my Olympic sized excitement, we've got a busy weekend ahead of us.. an Olympic themed pub crawl tonight, beach tomorrow, and pool party at our neighbors on Sunday. Oh! And I can't forget that today is Roxy's birthday! Last year I picked her up some doggy cookies that are made of shortbread and this year I ordered her a doggy cake that I'll be picking up after work. Can't wait to watch her go to town!

I've also been extremely tardy in my recap of last weekend's happenings.

Friday, we went to Happy Hour where we enjoyed these delicious concoctions:

This was a margarita made with the new Malibu Red.. DELISH!

Saturday, we went to the beach before going out with friends that night.

Practicing safe sun of course and trying to finish my Bethenny book

We came across this serious looking sandcastle

Before heading out for the evening, I whipped up some Buffalo Chicken Dip which we all munched on.

The boys did 3 Olives Cake and the girls did Malibu Red

He's gotta girly drink and he don't care! Everyone was busting on him for his drink. I thought it was tasty! It was 3 Olives Cake with pineapple and cranberry juice. Basically it was a Malibu Baybreeze but substituting the Malibu with 3 Olives Cake.

Silly boys

Ummm no thanks?

Then, on Sunday we went out for one of neighbor's birthday. We had so much fun and it was so nice to be out downtown with our neighbors.

Neighborly love

Happy Friday Eve! Linkin' up with Neely and Amber for It's Ok Thursday.

It's ok that...

~ I fully intend on watching every last second that I possibly can of the Olympics for the next 17 days.

~ I'm frustrated I've hit a plateau in my weight loss, but I have absolutely no problem having dessert every night. Nom nom nom..

~ We've lived in our house for over a year now, and we're only just now getting a ceiling fan for our master bedroom. Slllllackin...

~ I'm thinking about picking up a bottle of Skinny Girl Pina Colada not once but twice for this weekend. One for the beach on Saturday and one for a pool party at our neighbor's on Sunday. I introduced my neighbor to Skinny Girl Cosmos and she loves them, so I'm hoping she'll like the Pina Colada too.

~ I'm going through Harry Potter withdrawl because I haven't watched any of the movies in a few weeks.

~ I egg on Roxy to chase the ducks down near the pond when we're on our walks. Too stinkin' cute!
