It's Time for a Change!

It's Time for a Change!

Of my hair color that is!

I'm naturally a brunette, but I was a blonde from ages 13-25. I was blonde for so long that my own grandmother can't get used to me being a brunette again and asks when I'm going to dye my hair back to blonde. Go figure..

I went back to more of my natural color right before H and I got engaged. Mainly for it to be easier to maintain and I wouldn't have roots if I couldn't get to my hairdresser for a while and because H prefers my hair darker.

This is the most recent picture of my hair:

And this is what I looked like as a blonde:

With my college roommate in 2008 who is another CT to FL transplant :)

Me with my BFF Jess in 2007

With H a couple months into dating

Now this time around I was thinking of going darker than I did in the past when I was blonde. My highlights were super light, so I was thinking of maybe either going with an ombre do or just leaving in more low lights instead of going BLONDE!

I'd love to duplicate the fabulous Pink Lou Lou's highlights:

Gorgeous! I'd love to take this look but go darker for my skin tone and eye color.

I've always loved Lauren and adore this shade on her and may like to try it out myself.

Adore this look! However, I wouldn't be cutting my hair like that.

I love Jennifer Aniston's highlights here as well

Any advice? Feedback? Should I stay a brunette? My reasoning for not wanting to stay a brunette is that my color fades so quickly. It's always so rich right after going to the salon, but after only a week or two it's so blah plus when I'm in the sun a lot it starts to get a reddish tint. So, I was planning on going lighter again for the warmer months.

Happy Friday! :-D

~I thought wine would be the cure to my stress headache last night

~I almost broke the cork to said wine last night using my rabbit opener. Seriously... who has issues opening wine with that amazing contraption!? Yep.. that'd be me :-P

~A new crockpot recipe from Pinterest the other night was a complete fail

~I'd love to go see The Hunger Games again and can't wait for it to come out on DVD

Another One Bites the Dust

Another One Bites the Dust

We've been so busy lately, that we basked in the relaxation that was this weekend and I'm so sad to see it come to an end.

I went to Ulta on Friday to use my coupon and picked up 2 new nail polishes.

I got Essie's "A Cut Above" from the Luxe Effects collection and "Go Overboard"

I got "A Cut Above" to go over some of my pink polishes, but I ended up experimenting and using it over "Go Overboard" on my ring fingers.

I may not be the best artist, but I liked the pink over the tealish blue.

On Friday, I also received my Get Lucky Blog Swap box from Joanna at Dance and Dream 4 Ever

On Saturday, I went to get a much needed pedicure and chose OPI's Pompeii Purple.

Gotta love how H's old sneaker snuck it's way into the shot. I was sending a pic to my friend since she asked what color I chose and we were out getting some food and enjoying two for one margaritas after the movies.

Yes.. the movies.. I finally got to see The Hunger Games! I know it just came out at midnight on Thursday night, but man I felt like I waited forever to go see it on Saturday afternoon. I went with H and one of our friends and neither of them had read the books, but they both liked the movie (yay!). I think they did a great job of staying true to the book. They definitely left some things out, but all in all I was very satisfied with the movie after having read the books. Now, I'm just impatient for Catching Fire and they haven't even begun filming it yet!

Today was beautiful out so H and I cleaned the house since we've been so busy lately it's been neglected and washed our cars. Then I came inside and cooked a pot of sauce and baked some cheesecake swirl brownies.. double yum!

Hope everyone else enjoyed their weekend! :)

Fashion Star

Fashion Star

It's safe to say I'm already addicted to the new show Fashion Star which airs on Tuesday nights on NBC featuring Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson, Elle Macpherson, and John Varvatos.

I loved the show when it premiered last week. They feature two designers at a time, give you a back story on each, and then they pick one piece that they feel is the heart of their line and show it three different ways. Once they're done, Nicole, John, and Jessica each give their opinions and then it's time for the designers to turn and face the buyers. There's one from Macy's, Saks, and H&M. If one of the buyers decides to buy a design, it's on sale that night online and in stores the next day. Amazingness!

By far my favorite design of the evening was Oscar's sequined kimono cocktail dress. Even Jessica Simpson loved it and gushed that she'd wear it right now! Sadly, none of the buyers picked it up.

Love love LOVE

Yeah, it's a tad short, but let's face it that model is sportin' telephone poles, and for us every day gals, I'd assume the dress wouldn't be as scandalous.

I'm hoping that this week's episode will feature something I love this much, that I can actually find in stores the next day.

Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day!

Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe St. Patrick's Day weekend. H and I got festive for the occasion.

The hosts of the party just got an adorable new pupper!

Irish Car Bombs in true festive fashion

It was a fun night, but I must be getting old because I paid for it big time today *blah*. I call it self inflicted pain, so I have no one to be mad at but myself.

Oooh and the best part! I finally got my shamrock shake before it disappears.

YUM!
